Anyone using this engine care to share their experience. I am considering buying this engine.
Thanks
Poeple who use it says; it is easier to tune, and has maybe a bit more power than a OS 50 :)

From what I have heard and seen, it likes the MP5 pipe the best. There are some threads around here on the engine. A search should bring them up.

Of course, if the question were posted in engines and mufflers, you'd probably get a better response.

which pipe does it like best, I hope the align because that comes in the super pro kit, and I like the looks of that pipe.
I think I read somewhere that it likes the MP5 best.

Hatori produced the #523 specifically for the TT53H, so I guess it should be good.

Im considering getting this engine for my trex 600n. Is anyone having any issues with their carbs ? I read some issues regarding the carb on this engine and there are no mentions of that issue in this thread.
Im trying to decide beteween the OS .50 hyper and TTRL 53. Thanks
On a other note. ive heard some rumors of a new OS .57 hyper engine. ..?

So I have about 3 1/2 gallons of experience with this motor. First gallon was all break in and about 4 turns out. Second gallon, I hooked up the CarbSmart and removed the clicker from the needle valve. Never got this to work with any consistency, mainly due to never fully tuning in the engine and temperature changes between runs. The CarbSmart servo was either all open or all closed never in the middle. The Third gallon I removed the CarbSmart horn from the needle valve but did not put the clicker back on. Things were OK until my clunk line got a hole in it and I was rich until half tank then lean. The Forth gallon all was good with new clunk.......running 2 1/2 out and rich on take off......after some fast forward fly bys the engine sounded lean......started hover about 30 feet up and bringing it down then...........pop............auto in...........no damage.............BLOWN ENGINE.
Seems the needle valve is very loose and air pulled in causing the engine to go very lean very quick. I have a new piston, piston ring and, sleeve on the bench ready for the rebuild.
I have sent a formal complant to ThunderTiger with no responce.
I am looking for a more appropiate o-ring on the needle valve that will seal properly at 2 1/2 turns out. I am also going to put some fuel line over the needle at the carb.

The Align Hyper has a larger carb than the stock OS. I would run it until it goes, by then you should have a good idea on what motor you want

I found the needle to be a bit to loose as well, I put some 5mm heat shrink on mine just behind the oring, it`s now nice and tight

I just tried to put some heat shrink on the flange behind the o-ring and it sheared as I screwed the needle in. How thin is the heat shrink you are using?
Mine was some of the epoxy lined stuff.
Thanks

I just got through my second gallon with the TT53 Redline and can't be happier. I still think it could be leaned out a bit, but it runs very well a little rich. It starts within a second or two on the starter everytime, and will idle forever (i.e. no walk of shame back to the pit when your engine dies) I have put it through all the paces that I can do without very good collective management and it begs for more, even my shitty tic-tocs :)

Hi
How I did mine was to take off the oring then put the heat shrink on heat it up so it just started to fold over were the o-ring was then put the o-ring back on.
It was thin heat shrink and only just fits in the o-ring tube but has zero play in it now :-)

Is that so, does this explain the richer main needle setting over my stock OS Hyper, the Align Hyper is 1/4 turn more open in the same conditions
