A few days ago i took my Predator Gasser with a modified Toxic engine out to break it in. About one and half tanks into the break-in, the heli suddenly did a 180 on me. Now i have the nose looking at me. The nose in didn't bother me that much. It was the not having any control on the collective stick for a second or two. I was able to get it down with just minor damage to the landing gear. I am going over the ship, looking for anything unusual, and changing a few things like rerouting the antenna, changing the crystal, looking for loose screws, checking the battery, etc. I did find some bearings that didn't feel right. Since this is a new kit, i decided to send the defective parts back to Century. In the mean time, a question i just thought about. When breaking in a new engine, does it matter if the gyro is in HH or Normal. I was flying in HH when i had the tail glitch. I was thinking maybe because i am breaking in the engine at a rich setting, the rough running of the engine might be overworking the gyro servo. Just a thought.
