Hi everyone. Was flying outside nothing special and my heli had a dip in power due to interference. Then it happened again this time I was flying at about 45 degree angle and the heli dropped out the grund and hit the mud.
Damage:
Scratch on the blade
Feathering shaft bent
2 servos stripped
Main Gear stripped! (Only a week or so old!)
Blade grip ball links snapped on both sides
Main shaft? (Who knows probably bent!)
Any upgrade advice before I buy these parts?
I was thinking of Trex V2 feathering shafts. Do they fit? Or would you go for something different?

You running the plastic head still? If so, then my advice would be to get a cnc head (t-rex/copterx preferably).

Get the Align carbon steel shaft Andy. Its a bit shorter [ only a couple of mm ], goes in upside down, and is a super piece of upgrade. V V V good quality. I will not use anything else.

No I have the full CNC head and im already using the Trex stainless shafts which u turn upside down.
One of my blade holder ball links has snapped in the CNC!
I guess I will have to drill out and try and get a stainless ball that fits to go back in.

That happened to me also, the ball links that come with the cnc are too long and snap easily, take them out and replace them with the ones off the plastic head.
Actually thinking about it, I have a spare cnc blade holder as I replaced mine when 1 broke. You can also get some of the stainless feathering shafts for the cnc head from me (www.beltcp.co.uk (http://www.beltcp.co.uk)) if you want. Let me know and I will do you the SS feathering shafts (5 in a pack) and the CNC blade grip for £8 incl. p&p
I also have Stainless main shafts (exact same size as esky ones) that are the proper length so no need to put in upside down, mine fit all the way into the bottom bearing unlike the Align. That being said, I have not had any problems whatsoever with the Align SS Shafts and have not had to replace mine despite several crashes. I have just replaced it with the ones I stock and will post feedback on them next time I crash!!
I am off to Q8 again tomorrow but if you want this then let me know before lunch tomorrow and i will get the wife to post on Monday am.
Cheers

What brand are they Gerd? I suspect they are stronger than the std ones but are these as good as Align feathering shafts? Like the V1 or V2 if it fits? Or even the microheli shafts?
Just spent another fortune. Fed up now of spending so much money on this heli!
Just bought:
Spektrum DX6I TX and RX
4 x Towerpro SG90 Servos
Linkage set
Align Boom Brace set
Microheli Gear!! (NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS AS IT WAS BRAN NEW:arggg:)
Align Stainless Steel 220MM Flybar
and a few bits for my brother in law
And shortly a set of feathering shafts :YeaBaby:

Got a few stratches and a small chip out the lacker on my Align 315 Carbon weighted blades. Do you think they will be ok? They look fine to me except 1 scratch (Not a crack)

They should be OK, maybe put some clear lacquer (or nail varnish) over the chip.
With regards to the f/shafts they are made in China or Hong Kong and sold by maxdiypower on ebay. No brand as such but they are better than the stock esky ones (and cheaper). Haven't tried the align so can't comment, the V2 will be to big but the V1 may fit.

Sorry to hear about your crash mate
Don't know what the resin is in the Carbon fiber blades but it's almost certainly compatible with cyanoacrylate, this will run into any tiny cracks and make the repair stronger than the surrounding area.:)

:YeaBaby:Now all I need to do is find my glue. Ive been looking for it for the last 2 days:arggg:
Suppose I could buy some more:thumbup:
I have a shaft off my brother in law but I think I would like to try one of the Align F/Shafts to see how they work. As I said maybe even try the Microheli titanium shaft. Would like that blade holder though as it saves me the hassle of having to sort mine out. How much would you want just for the blade holder Gerd.

The grip balls are the first to go, i didnt wait for them i replaced them with balls off the stock swashplate straight away..
Just drill them out and replace with ball from swash with screw and nut and your good to go.

I wouldnt waste your money on a titanium feathering shaft!
The will not be as strong as a stainless steel one, even if the tell you otherwise! And however hard they are, in a normal crash they will always bend.
The V2 shafts deffinatly wont fit, they are 4mm rather than 3, and have a step down to 3mm at each end.
Good choice of TX, it will make a very big difference.

Thx. Once I finally get over the shock :arggg:
I will change all the balls with the stock balls. I did read a post (Think it was by you DIerwolf) that said to replace them but I thought it wouldnt happen to me:oops:
O well lesson learned the hard way. Wont get the titanium shaft then. They cost to much as well. So whats the verdict which feathering shafts are best?
V1
Stainless from Gerds site?
Other?
Havent you got the V1 on yours Wolfie? Or am I getting mixed up with your EXI

I'd just go with gerds, theyre cheaper, easier to get and sound good quality. Crashwise you cant really get anything that wont bend!

So one vote for Gerds. Anyone else got an opinion?
