makita batteries

18650 cells are lithium Ion metal encased cells and are rated at 1500 mah per cell 3.7 volts per cell nominal voltage and are only rated at 10c to 15c

(they are excellent receiver batteries , starter , fuel pump batteries )

lithium polymer - or its variants are soft bag encased and are rated from 1000mah to 10000mah per cell depending on the manufacturer they are also 3.7 nominal voltage but are rated are much higher 15c-30c
they also weight less per cell compared to

lithium ion

from
makita
milwakee
dewalt

and cost more to run for helis

overall li-po's are lighter have more MAH so they make you heli run longer and perform better at a hight cost

li-ion's weight more have less MAH they will work but your run times are reduced and the heli flys on the heavy side

charging is another topic that could be also discussed
