Just got my 550CF but it seems that the tail servo is supposed to be mounted on the boom instead of in the frame. Is that something new in this kit or is it only on the plastic frame the servo goes in the frame?

My CF frame has a place for the tail servo to go in the frame... I got it 4 months ago.

Mine too, but I also got cnc tail servo mounts that goes on the boom. I was just curious if that was considered an uppgrade.

`That's the way mine came. It mounting the TR servo on the boom helps the CG if you are using bigger batteries. i.e. 3000mAh+ If you TR linkage is straight, you will have to mount it on the boom or order the other linkage.
Boom mounting works fine. The link is more positive, it eliminates the flex. Plus, I mount my rec batt in the tail servo slot. :thumbup:
