Most of you have probaly seen one of these before but I am excited to be working of my first scale. I hope I am up to the challange to make it look as half as good as the ones I see here. I was suprised and pleased to see they now cut out and supply "glass" for the chin bubbles and sunroofs. Oh yeah, just in case someone does not know it is the Hirobo .30 Huey.

The mech's are installed and ready to test fly. I did not like the stock tail setup. It has a stainless tube with piano wire for the pitch control. I could not get it to move smoothly. I decided to try a Gold n Cable. Moves smoothly with no slop. I also like the idea of using ball links with this setup instead of the z bends in the piano wire. I ended up putting some small brass tubing around the wire from the servo to where the outer tube attaches to the frame to keep the wire from flexing. You can see it in the pics if you know where to look. If weather, and time permits I'll try to test fly it today.

As I seen on another site of the same build I decided to add some thin plywood between the fuse and the mechs being the only point of connection was the four screws from the landing gear is the only thing that holds the mechs in. I also have started to cut out the engine cowling vents. I started modifying the roof air scoops that was supplied with the kit. I would like to cut out the rear cargo doors to make them more open and realistic looking but am still trying to figure out how to stiffen the lower fuse up as the the angle at the top makes it more ridged. I think that adding some "ribs" in front and back of the doors, plus the "floor" plywood will make it stiff enough, I hope. Any ideas woud be appriciated.
