What I've heard as well. $800 without main blades.

It will probably be around $2-2.5K give or take a little depending on servos/electronics.
Another way to save some money is to buy Radix cosmetically flawed blades until Align comes out with something cheaper.

So that would cover your kid's laptop and first few quarters' textbooks. :D
