Hi guys,
I was wondering if someone could tell me the diameter of the main shaft of the belt-cp as I was looking at putting a cnc head from a belt on a blade-400 as they are hell cheap compared to the align gear.
I found this cnc head and tail for $70us http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ESKY-BELT-CP-Helicopter-Metal-Upgrade-Rotor-CNC-Parts_W0QQitemZ150240828412QQihZ005QQcategoryZ1100 26QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
and I was thinking would be better than stock plastic bits.....

The shaft is 5 mm.
From what I've heard, Esky CNC isn't really that hot to begin with - and at the price I don't think those parts are likely to be original... Have you considered a CopterX head and tail? $84.98 while the discount lasts.

The CopterX V2 head is great value and flys really well, depending on postage costs I think you may get it even cheaper from Hong Kong, mine was less than £20 plus the postage:thumbup:

Hey, thanks Mika
I had seen the Copter-X stuff before and its cost was a little on the high side before......
(Just placed my order) ...... one funny thing though..... don't think their currency converter is up to date though....
$85USD should be around $90 but it comes out at $113 AUD

Always check if you get a better exchange rate from their online converters or PayPal ;)
At the moment most sites can't keep up with the nosedive of the USD, so I always place my orders in dollars and let PayPal convert it to my local currency. Saves a surprising amount of money when you add it all up over multiple orders...

i make my own shafts at work for my heli, the diameter is 4.99mm, anything bigger and you have alot of trouble getting the swash plate to slide smoothly if you can get it on at all, although i found the main head itself to be a bit loose even on a 5.00 - 5.01 shaft, i had to apply some shim to get the head to sit firm without any wobble, not a great problem if you have the equipment but not everyone works in an engineering workshop (perks of the job)

Ever thought of cutting some feathering shafts, esp for the CNC head?

just bought the cnc head the other day, so not realy had time to look at the seperate parts yet, i used to make my own feathering shafts for the plastic head, was quite dissapointed to find the cnc head uses different feathering shafts :arggg: i got about 10 shafts spare for the plastic head.
i will get round to it though...someday ;)
