i used some parts from my micro heli tail, and some from the stock one. it is very smooth. i had to grind a little bit off of the brass bushing that goes in the tail pitch slider, and i used a small brass washer on the other side of the bushing to lower the slider arm. what do you think?:YeaBaby:

Hi,

I have done the same as you!

I think some people have done the hybrid thing when they break bits and swap sections out!

But I did exactly what you have done out of choice after playing around!

I prefer the stock tail CF sides and they way it all fits together with those larger hex screws (i thjink they look stronger).

I do however think the MicroHeli tail slider is better (being ball raced and CNC - much less slop/more precision), to be honest I think its in the slider itself that gives the gains with the rest as stock a good combination. I noticed with the MicroHeli belt guide (that little ali wheel that sits above the tail) allows the belt to slide side to side on the shaft pinion (not good) becuase its wider than the belt so allows the belt to slide side to side wheras with the stock, they simply have a groove for the belt to sit, so the belt stays center on the tail rotor pinion. Have you noticed this?

Has anyone tried any other set ups for the tail. I noticed that flying hobby are diong another tail but its been on back order for a while now (http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_5_9&products_id=2435). Has anyone seen/got this one. If so, whats it like compared to stock/Microheli?

Thanks

Dazza

I know Gr4yb3ard was joking around, but he posted a listing (esky-helicopter.com) for the Copter X 200. I looked at it, and the tail set on it looks nice. I havn't got my EP200 yet ( today I hope), but looking at pictures, I think the X looks better. I don't know how the boom & belt size compare, but it might be worth checking out. :thinking

the copter x is a bit heavier. other than that, i've never seen one in person.

There is a long thread regarding copter x 200. It has some issues with the main shaft, tail shaft, one way bearing, parts availabilty and some quality issues last time I checked. I was comparing it with the GAUI 200 at that time. I went with GAUI after some research. The copter x 200 will be great if the copter x can fix those issues.

Actually, I was only looking at the tail set. The mail-person ( a woman for us) just droped my GAUI 200 off!! :) I knew this thing was small, but you guys didn't say that you had to work on it with a magnifying glass and tweezers.:wow2:
What size allen wrench fits the set screws on the flybar? TIA

OTG!

You had me going for a moment ICCA, Glad you gotta GAUI!!!

Yeah them little parts is small. Put a towel on your workbench, a sheet on the floor. Have a magnet handy to search for the parts you cant' see, get a coffee can lid or something to temporarily stash the stuff you're working with, or it walks back to the factory, or something.....

I'm getting on of those round florescent lights with the magnifiying lenses in the middle. And be careful of stripping threads, I'm to machines, like some folks are to PETA, and I was horrified!

The bit of research into "brand x" was, as I said, still the reflex of trying to find a good 200 heli.

My search is over! My baby and I are crankin' now!

However, I'd still like to find a $50 battery for a T-Rex 600, and someone to teach me how to hover a Walkera 4#3!! ;-)
