Hey guys, I need your help. I have a new tp 610c charger and four airthunder batteries. I'm using the included balance adapter to connect the airthunder batteries. All four packs started in balance at about 3.76 volts/cell. Two packs shut off premature. Both packs had a cell overvoltage and a cell or two undervoltage. Two packs. We're talking about 4.20 to 4.27 volts on 4 cells and two about 3.97 volts. The charger stops when a cell goes overvoltage. Do you know if the balancer continues to work if the charging process stops? Is there any way to just balance with this charger and not actually charge the pack to get the balance inline? Do I have two bad packs from airthunder or is this typical for new packs? Everything (charger and all packs) are brand new for a t-rex 500. Thanks guys for your help. I'm really wanting to fly this thing since I spent all week getting it built.

Have you tried to call Thunder Power? Their tech support is fantastic!

A couple thoughts ...
Are these brand spanking new packs? <edit> yes they are! RTFS <edit/>
Can you try a different charger? What if you discharge the pack (use it) for 1-2 minutes then try charging again? What if you charge at a lower rate, say 1/2C? Did you try anything funky like charging 2 packs at once?
What charge settings did you use for these packs?
And yes, TP support rocks!

The charger should never allow a cell to go over 4.20 volts, some could be a tad over, maybe 4.23V. Sounds the like the balancer may have a problem, definetly contact TP support.

OK GUYS, after a few charge and discharge cycles (btw the trex 500 is awesome) 3 out of 4 batteries balance good 4.19-4.20. One battery tends to always leave one cell low when balancing 4.10 and it overcharges the others to 4.25 or so trying to balance the one low cell. I have tried different charge rates from 1/2 c to 1c. No difference. What's interesting is after a 4:30 flight with the suspect pack, all cells are in balance within 2 millivolts. I've contacted thunderpower and they say to send the charger in, but it's the only one i have that can do 6s and it charges and balances the other 3 packs fine. Did I just get a bad pack from airthunder? Thanks again guys.
