View Full Version : 1 week old B400 - Upgraded
So I went out and bought a new Blade 400 3D. Tried to fly it only to crash. Feathering shaft, Blades, Tail Boom, main gear and main shaft all bent or broke. So I fixed it all, upgraded the servos to the HS65MG (all three) and have a Futaba 9650 for the tail (not installed). So I still have an extra tail boom and new fly bar. I have come to the conclusion that this is just way to much bird for me to learn how to fly on. SO I figure I can get rid of it and but something that is easier for me to learn on. I am looking to get $500 for the the heli and everything that came with it, ( I even have the box still.)

The Blade 400 is not a bad model to learn on. A coaxial won't teach you anything. Something smaller can't be flown outdoors. Easier to fly means bigger, which in turn means more expensive to fix.
Suggestion:
1) Keep the heli, it doesn't cost any more or less to repair than a TRex 450
2) Get a sim ... Clearview RC Sim is only $40 and does a great job for helicopters
3) Get a USB interface for you DX6i ... they are available on ebay for about $15 and from some merchants
You simply create a new "airplane" model, leave the transmitter off, then plug-in the cable. In clearview, assign the channels to the controls surfaces and calibrate the controller.

4) Spend some time on the sim
5) Read and follow Radd's school of rotary flight

I agree
Keep it, its great heli to learn, you don't want cheap one.

Awsome price Paul.Do you have a sim??If not get a sim cause you fixed the main problem(servos) and its a really nice flying heli.I guess if your not going to stick with the heli hobby someones going to get a sweet deal.Eather way good luck, but if you keep it post up on the forms for help and info cause if your radio settings are stock(d/r) its going to be wayyyy to touchy on the right stick and anyone thats new is going to have problems hovering cause as soon as you move, its going to move verry fast.I guess im trying to talk you out of selling it lol..

The price includes the upgraded servos. So all in all you are getting a new heli with the upgrades everyone says you need.
As far as the sim goes yeah I have real flight G4. If it doesn't sell here in the next week then I guess I will have to keep it. I leave town for a month and wont be able to sell it then, then again, i wont be able to fly it either. So maybe I will be better after a month of the sim.

Not sure where you will be going but take it with you.
If you need parts well online stores would help out or get some extra parts before you fly out.
I'll bet ya you will be able to find a space to fly 400 since they don't need lot of space for hover...
Good Luck
I would love to take it with me. Maybe someday. I will be on a boat sitting out at the equator. To much water around to even think of flying it and putting it in the drink.

Crash Sorry buddy I am already gone and don't have the heli with me. If I do decide to get rid of it still when I get back then I will PM you to see if you are still interested. I should be back on or around June 4th.
Thanks.
