Frequently, I see Phoenix online sessions with the name HeliFreak that are password protected. Are members here invited to these sessions or are these closed sessions for others that are members here. Just curious.

Online sessions are limited to a maximum of 8 members. Really they can only handle about 5 before performance stinks. For that reason, they are by invitation only. They could limit the connections and allow first come, as some sessions do but, then some friends might not get a slot.
Join the Phoenix Sim Social Group (http://www.helifreak.com/group.php?groupid=34) and, ask if you can have the password. They might not give it to you but, there is no harm in asking.
You will need to have TeamSpeak (http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads) working or, they surely will not invite you. If you get in and have TeamSpeak, you better be entertaining. :smokin:

The helifreak server wasn't really started with any intention of being an official HF server. It was started by a group of us that hang out on the chat here. Usually Tod will give you the password and Bill will give you the TS password, Iam sure this will continue until the regulars get out numbered. We pretty much have a server up for a few hours everyday so we are VERY visible, i still am unsure of why others dont create their own servers.
You will want to join the Phoenix social group so you can download the custom flying fields.

Thanks guys. I have actually started hosting a passworded session for the folks in the B400 thread. I do not really mind flying with folks that are not members here, but I like flying with folks up here better. I will still look into joining the social group though and I do have TS as well as Ventrillo so voice comms is no problem.
Thanks again, maybe we will see you online. If you ever see my server up (hosted on my machine), feel free to come in. Our password is not so secret as it is available in the B400 thread. Usually I make a post when I am firing it up (The thread is here (http://www.helifreak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=98)). Feel free to join us sometime.
I really wish I had another comp to set up a TS server. That is what it is really missing. It is much easier to hit a talk button than to land and type.
TS is voice activated, don't have to hit any buttons.

Depends upon how you set it up. Been using it for years in gaming and do not use VA myself (when gaming). Nothing like someone having to cough or clear their throat and you hear them. Or suddenly you hear, "Yes Honey. I will take out the trash in a minute" LOL When playing a combat sim, it can be deadly when a cough drowns out something you need to hear. But I can see it being very helpful flying. No taking your hands off the controls to speak. Then again, if I was on there with you, you would probably want me to be on PTT. My dogs like to bark alot when I am gaming. They have learned what will get my attention. LOL
Well we talk as much as old women, we would wear out the activation key :)

Very cool Slot. You are just down the road (so to speak). Let me know if any heli events take place down your way and I will see if I can make it. I will do the same for you if you like.
