Well I have a DX6i that I'm planning on using with my Gaui 200 that I got with my Blade 400. I'm debating on selling the DX6i and getting the DX7 and take advantage of the Spektrum special and get a second receiver for free. The only reason I'm thinking of going with the DX7 is because I have an older X-cell 60 SA I just got from the LHS that I'm planning on completing after I get proficient with my 400 & Gaui. Would it be wise to make the switch to the DX7 now or wait until I'm ready to complete the X-cell? Just looking for some advice. Thanks!

rotorhead58d....That's what I've been thinking. I haven't really got use to using the DX6i yet and working my way through all the menu screens and all the functions. Some people on a different heli forum said that the DX6i would work fine on the X-cell 60 but I would need another channel if I wanted to run a govener. Thanks!

Has anyone read the terms for the extra receiver giveaway on Spektrums web site? I've read it a few times and I have a question. Does it sound like I have to buy the radio set and an extra receiver inorder to get an extra receiver? That would mean that I would have a total of 3 receivers for the price of the radio set + one receiver = extra receiver. You can read the details here. (http://www.spektrumrc.com/giveaway/) I'm going to give Spektrum a call in the morning but just thought I would see how someone else interprets the details. Thanks!

Hey RC... as far as i read it... you buy one radio and rx.. and get another rx for free... just like i would expect! if you just buy a radio... youre gunna need an rx to go with... so you have to buy a tx +rx b4 you get the free stuff!! If that makes sense

stoatnchips....Thats how I was understanding it but read this:

With the Great 2.4GHz DSM Giveaway, upgrading your RC collection to DSM technology has never been simpler or more affordable. Purchase a DSM radio system and additional receiver, get another receiver free. Purchase 2 additional receivers, get 2 free. It's that easy. But make sure you act soon, as this offer is only good until April 30th. There's never been a better time to take your RC experience to the next level with 2.4GHz DSM Technology.

Reading this makes me think that if I purchase a radio system (i.e. Tx/Rx with serovs and everything) plus and additional receiver, then I can get an extra receiver. That makes me think that I will have the system with a receiver and then two additional receivers. (1 purchased, 1 free)

quite right RC... you need a TX, then you buy 1 rx and get 1 free... buy 2 rxs get 2 free.. kinda makes sense when you think about it.
Anyway wher r u based? its gotta me midnight where you are...

I love my DX7... I started with the original DX6 (not i) and the DX7 is a lot better in many respects. I'm not sure what's different between the DX6 & the DX6i, hopefully they've fixed some of the minus points :) Anyway if you can afford to upgrade, DX7 is awesome :)

I'm in Richmond Virginia and right now it's 12:35. I work night shift 7pm-7am so when it's slow I'm reading up on heli stuff. I really would like to get the DX7 to use with my Gaui 200, Blade 400 and X-Cell 60 but I need to sell the DX6i also. I'm trying to find a used DX7 Tx only with manual, Tx battery, charger, and bind plug but not having too much success.

Well RC.. its 5:40 am here in the UK and i just can not sleep!! I can't really advise you coz i'm still kinda new to this... if you missed my posts from 4 weeks ago... I used to fly a concept 30 on a 5 chnl futaba radio.. then stopped for 12 years... now there are new things like CCPM and semi-conductor based Gyros!!??? AARRGH!!! just too much tech!!! but asking arround, i found that the DX7 was the Tx to use and went with it... hey i picked it up for $180US... here in the UK the Tx retails for £220 ($440US)!!

Look, its best to go for 7 chnls

Aileron
Elevator
(Aux1) Pitch
Throttle
Rudder
Gear Gyro

and who's to say you won't want a conopy with retracts in the future... or else chnl 7 could be used for Governor control if you ever go nitro....!!??

GET A DX7!

Anyway, I think that the rx that you get with the Tx doesn't count as buying a rx. I think you have to buy a SEPERATE rx and then you get on free.

Yea , but if you buy that you wont qualify for the dsm giveaway. you have to buy the complete system PLUS a second receiver, then they will give you a free receiver. It's a sales promo aimed at converting flyers to 2.4Ghz

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to pass on the Spektrum giveaway offer. I have no need for 3 receivers and extra servo's so I'm looking for a used but like new DX7 transmitter with Tx battery, charger, bind plug and manual. Anyone know where you can get a new DX7 with the items I'd like to have with the set? northcarolinadan.....Thanks for the info. I emailed the seller about availability of the DX7's he had listed. Thanks!
