Havent you had this thing long enough and read enough to get rid of those stock servos?
this is an excellent heli you cant beat it for the price and RADIO, well if you got the funds go for it. I just hate buying something for the name. This bird is VERY stable and yes I am a newbie just learning too.

I really fail to understand how any of this is the fault of the heli or its servos. You crashed. Rebuilt. Put it in the air and you say a servo failed. The servo did not fail because it was a bad quality servo. YOU CRASHED the heli. Did you test all your servos under load to make sure they were not damaged? Odds are that in the initial crash you partial damaged the servo. Putting it in the air just finished the damage. Any other nylon geared servo would possibly do the same thing.
Buying a Trex would not remedy this situation.

YO! Just go ahead and spring for the servos, still cheaper than a t-rex. Could buy 2 b-400s at my lhs ($400 even) with RADIOS! WOOHOO!

The servos did crash mine... had one failed on its own and ditched it on takeoff. LHS even agreed and sprung for the replacement parts - cant complain about that!
Mind you, have since put the old servos in an old park flyer as its not so critical or as strenuous on them....

I had the same thing happen to me...... tested it on the ground everything was fine and the n the elevator cyclic servo died when the thing was less than 4 flights old.... ended up costing $90 in repairs, replaced the servos with 3 x hs65s and a hs56 for the tail, the charging circuit in the battery failed after about 20 flights (cells were fine), so my lhs replaced it with a dualsky 2200 and now all is sweet..... just waiting on some cnc bling cause I'm sick of it losing its tracking after one pack (I supposed is to be expected with plastic..... no where near as bad as a mini titan though)
I have to admit though the radio is the one thing this package has going for it (one sweet piece of kit for the price)

im not bashing the heli im bashing e-flite for puting crap servos in a 500 doller heli the heli it self is a good stable bird but wen you put servos in the just quit in a hover thares somthing rong with that pic the servo is not striped the servo is ded its about 10 flights old
you know whats funny nun of my servos are striped this time the elevater is just not working

I have to agree.. I think e-flite under engineer the servos on this thing (that's what the eflite rep told the LHS). At least they should come up with a metal gear upgrade.
I switch to 65hb and it was the best upgrade!! Right after I installed them I crashed the heli and to my suprise -- no strip servos!! Best upgrade for the B400!!

Personally, if I buy a WalMart hammer, I cannot expect it to last building houses for a living. I think Eflite made this for people to get into the sport, not for someone who flies as often and as hard as many of us do. I have great success with my heli and am 100% pleased. I have crashed twice, had to rebuild servos (even used stock replacement plastic gears and it is flying fine). I have no complaints. Any problem I have had, I called Horizon and they took care of it. One satisfied customer here. Thanks Horizon!

I've been running four of the E-flite 1800 mah lipos and have had nothing but great performance from them. Perhaps you are asking too much from yours. What are your flight times? Are you flying until the low-voltage cutoff kicks in?

yup i had mine crash to cause of the dam tail servo,,stripped in the air,,but the 65msg s have worked real well.

Yes batteries are good (take care of them properly), servos, not so much!

Hello, All!
I'm beginning to think there could be issues with the Dx6i radio. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that some of my settings were slightly changed. Then last week, the right side head servo crapped out on me. LHS didn't have the DS75H servos, so I bought a Spektrum DSP60 digital servo. I swapped the DS75H on the tail for the DSP60 and replaced the right head servo with it. Now none of the controls except for the tail work properly! WTF! The kid at the LHS played with the reverse settings for a 1/2 hour & gave up. Mind you, before I started unplugging servos I made a diagram of how they were plugged into the receiver. And then I downloaded from Horizon the default factory settings diagram. No success!! I have a "possessed" heli! Grrr...:arggg: I had crashed & repaired 3 times already. I made sure all stripped servo gears were replaced. But one minute I was hovering and the next minute I couldn' lift off. Servo died without being crashed. I asked my son if he'd goofed with the TX & he said no. SOMETHING had changed the settings & It wasn't me! Now after replacing the servo, nothing works right. Do I need to call support?

Flatspins, you should start a new thread concerning your issues, beyond my knowledge.Good luck.
blade400, you should never use more than 80% of your batteries capacity!
1800mah- 1440mah. I replace between 1000 - 1100mah after 7 minutes of hovering.
You can use up to 1440mah of your 1800mah batteries. Use your timer!

go into the "Swash" setting and make some of the - numbers into + ones.

I've seen this problem on the DX6i TX also. Call Horizon and send in your TX. They will fix or repair.

First of all the Spektrum DSP75 and the E-Flite DS75H are not the same servo even though they share the same cases and gears. The E-Flite servos are reversed and it has more throw than the Spectrum. Here's a hint: you WILL NEVER get the swash to work correctly unless all 3 CCPM servos are the same.
Lastly, the DSP60 on the TR is not going to cut it. The DSP75 will work well with the stock gyro though.
Even if you reversed the servo you replaced, which would have gotten the swash moving correctly, you will have introduced cyclic interactions in the collective making the heli really hard to fly.
Get 3 more DSP75s, the Spektrum servo programmer, a swash leveling tool and a pitch gauge. Reverse the ELEV, AILE, PITC and RUDD servos in the TX. Level the swash at 1/2 stick and in idle-up at full +/- pitch, set the pitch with the pitch gauge and you are good to go. Do a search in this forum to see how to do it.
This heli flies quite well when setup properly and that is the key to success for flying it.

Thanx, Mike!
How 'bout if I replace all servos with Hitecs? How'd you know that yes, the new digital servo needed to be reversed?? So what you R saying is that if I disconnected the DSP60 digital servo on the tail that all other control functions should return to normal? Is it that simple? :arggg:
