I have some X-Cell paddles and tail blades here and I was wondering if anyone has tried them on their H550?

(I also purchased the white lightweight H550 paddles and tail blades for spares, but honestly I don't see any difference when comparing them to the stock paddles and tail blades, except that the tail blades are more flexible. )

I have never experimented with different paddles on helis and don't know what to expect.

Would the larger, thinner X-Cell paddles give faster control response? Would they create any problems at high rpms? Is there even any advantage at all in using the larger X-Cell paddles that have more surface area on the H550? I'd like to try them but don't want to mess with my heli if it would be a waste of time or do damage to it.

Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Steve

i've got a 410mm hirobo flybar with the hirobo paddles with adjustable lead weights in mine which increased stability and responsiveness(is that a word).it can't hurt.......

I tried the white light weight Gaui paddles and noticed a big difference. The lighter the paddles are the more sensitive the head response is. I just put some lighter paddles on my Trex 450 and now the roll rate is incredible.

The white Gaui light-weight paddles really are lighter. I don't have a scale here to say exactly how much, but they are compared to the stock paddles.

The X-Cell paddles are only slightly heavier than the Gaui paddles, but they have much more surface area.

I don't know if they would make it more or less sensitive or the same.

I put the light-weight white paddles and tail blades on the z30 powered heli today and they do make a difference in the way the heli rolls, flips and handles in the air. I won't say that it's a huge difference, but.. noticeable. It wouldn't be something to run out and buy just to change it, but if you ever have to replace tail blades and/or paddles, it's a better way to go. This would be a nice upgrade for the z20 helis since it would improve the roll and flip rate which is one area were they lag behind the z30 powered bird. I didn't try the X-Cell paddles on the z20 heli today because there are no set screws to secure the paddles once they are screwed on. I guess they are supposed to be glued on or something? If so, i'm not wild about doing that cuz it would mess up the threads on the flybar if/when i would have to remove/replace the paddles.

The Gaui light weight paddles really make a difference ! My Hurri flips like crazy with those :D . If I remember correctly, they are 10g lighter than the stock ones...

Yeah, I took the Gaui lightweight ones off to try these X-Cell's and it flys about the same. These paddles are larger/heavier, but with more surface area the heli feels about the same in the air as it did with the lightweight ones.
