I have a Titan 50, and recently had a minor crash. Fortunately there was very little damage. However, now I can't stop the tail from rotating to the right (nose to the left). The gyro seems to be working fine, and the is no binding on the servo (9254) or linkage. The belt tension is fine. This is driving me nuts! Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Are you in HH mode? Is it rotating or more like a drifting tail right?

Yes, I am in HH, and no it does not drift, instead it spins around to the right.

I know you said the gyro seems to be working fine, but it's such a contributor to yaw. I'm guessing you've verified that your gyro direction is correct? As in when you have the heli on the bench and you pinch the tail just on the boom side of the tail pitch slider and push the tail to the right the slider feels as if it's trying to pinch your fingers? If not you should reverse the direction on your gyro.

What gyro is it? Is the gyro mounted firmly with no wires touching it? You don't have trim / sub trim on the rudder channel do you? Tail blades on the right direction?

What all did you replace since it worked well last?

check your servo reverse menu as well, if the servo is reversed that will also cause you a headache:)

The gyro is a GY401. The crash caused a few ball links on the head to break, and one of the main wooden blades to crack and the flybar was bent (this I bent back into shape) After replacing all of this the problem started. The gyro workes in the proper direction. No trim on the rudder.

forgot to mention, but I also had to replace the clutch and clutch bell, as the lining was gone. Other than that, nothing was done to the tail.

Kph, You said you bent the flybar back into shape. I hope you replaced it because you will never beable to bend it so it is perfectly straight. The flybar does all the steering as far as elevator and aileron so it is vary critical to be right. Also with the speeds these heads are turning, you do not want metal fatigue to cause a crash.

Also, you do not have to replace the clutch bell, just the liner.

if you just bend it back you can get a NASTY vibration which can tear the copter apart again.

The problem might be solved with a siimple relearning the gryo center memory.

Put the gyro in HH mode and flip whatever switch you use to change to rate mode three or four times back and forth real fast ending up in HH mode.

Thanks for all the good info and advice. I managed to fix the problem.....increasing the head speed took care of it. Amazing how a 20 second soloution can clears up 4 days of utter frustration. Thanks again.
