I want to stretch my Logo 600 to use 710 blades, where do I find a boom for such project (online source, worldwide shipping)? Joker 2 is what I heard, anyone know partnumber and where to best get it?

(already have the belt needed)

How about a source for the 788XL belt?

I have a Raptor boom which is 815mm and gates belt that will fit 690s. Gates numbers their belts differently, basicly a Gates 385XL is 38.5 " each side or in other words is a 770XL.

belt can be bought at SDP-SI.com

(and they now have cheaper shipping for us international customers as well)

SDP-SI.com doesn't list a 788 pitch length belt. Got any other suppliers?

I called SDP-SI and a couple of other suppliers and could not find a 788XL. I have seen them listed by Asian manufacturers. Still looking for a supplier.

I recieved a Gates PU 770XL from SDP-SI. It is fiber reinforced and white.

If I can find a 788XL I will extend a Raptor boom with a slit 30mm insert and a 15mm extension made from a piece of Raptor boom.

Bullaculla makes a very nice tail boom extension for the T600 (75x2cm) from a Synergy N9 boom and Raptor 90SE torque tube - maybe you could make some sleeves to adapt that for the L600

The raptor 90 boom works just peachy, just cut to length.
Ditto for the joker boom, I've used both actually.

Don't get hung up on the 788xl number, just find an xl pitched belt of the appropriate pitch length.
The part number was in my old post on stretching the 6003d.

Nathan

Nathan,
I would like to be able to swing 710s. How long of blade will the 770 or 385 belt allow?

It's be tight with 105's.
I had a decent margin on 690's and 105's, maybe 20mm.

Nathan

Nathan,
Did you fly the long boom with 600 blades. Just wondering how the tail behaved with a longer boom and regular blades.

Yup, not too much different, v-bar needed a minor tweak on the elevator stop setting due to the tail box, and battery for balance concerns, being farther out from the main shaft.
Other considerations for the stretch are a longer tail servo pushrod.

I can't imagine needing anymore than 690mm blades, unless your hauling some huge packs. With my 4350 packs it was borderline too light.

I wish I had your knowledge of the v-bar back when I did this, as the performance was completely absurd, but I couldn't tweak it to my liking.
Silly, silly horizontal knife edge moves could be performed, gravity did not exist. Rainbows weren't rainbows, they were just straight across with hardly any drop in altitude.
Bear in mind that I was running 2000rpm and up head speed, not 1700 as Ulrich was, or is now.

Nathan

I may have it flying this weekend. Blade choices are limited. I can't get the 690s you were using, which I believe were 165 gram blades. I can get light 710s or heavy 690s. I was thinking light blades at 2,000 rpm.
