It is a real close dollar amount, a couple of bucks less it appears today, though yesterday, they were about the same price. LOL If they want more, I will try to get them to just exchange it since they wasted a fair deal of my time. It is worth a shot. LOL

Check out CC. Basically 400 for either model.

The one I will be getting (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Panasonic-40GB-Hybrid-Hard-Drive-Camcorder-SDRH40/sem/rpsm/oid/201778/catOid/-13063/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do)

The one I will be returning. (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/JVC-Everio-G-GZ-MG155US-Hard-Disk-Camcorder-with-Docking-Station-GZ-MG155US/sem/rpsm/oid/171438/catOid/-13063/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do)
The only thing the Panasonic does not have that I like is the remote. That was a nice feature. But I can live without that I think.

Looks like a great deal. Love the price. May I suggest going to the JVC site and read about it too just to make sure it is what you want. I looked at webpages, but no where did it specify operating system (should have downloaded and looked at manuals ike I did for the model you mentioned). There is more on the company websites than the dealer sites. Just make sure you know what you are getitng unlike I did. ;) That camera is also XP only too.

Wish that one worked with 2000. I would save a ton of money. Appears to be an older model for I cannot find it o CC website and it is coming up n the archived section of the JVC site. It has the basic featues I wanted, and that was mainly zoom and harddrive so I did not have to deal with external media.

Ok, get this. The day I do not have my Nikon with me, and I have a camcorder, that I cannot get movies off of and I have to exchange today… Two attack and two scout heli’s from Ft Bragg are at the speedway preparing for the upcoming race. My co-worker comes and tells me they are on the helipad at the speedway. So, I jump in the truck and run over just in time as they are pulling up in a van to leave. I have no way to get photos of them. Talked with the pilots briefly, then watched them take off. The downwash from the attack helis almost blew my skinny butt over. SO AWESOME! Two people there with cameras are supposed to be emailing me digital photos. I will share them if they do send them. Killer part, after they take off, both groups of helis fly laps around the speedway. Dang I wish I could have used the stupid camcorder. What an afternoon. I will be high on this all day! Sad thing is, I grew in Fayettenam and around that stuff all the time. I still cannot get enough of it and it still excites me to this day to see them so up close and personal.

You should have seen the look on the guys face when I walked back into CC this afternoon. We had talked and joked the night before, he was a good guy. THen today, got him and the dept manager. No restock fee on an open box (usually 15%), $26 and change less than the other. Turned 19 of that back into a nice bag. ;)

Battery is charging. Flying tonight with friends on the net but will try to get a test done before then. Don't hold me to it though.

Drum roll please.... [bruummmmmm] I shot my first video copied it to the PC< logging in now to YT. Stay tuned. ;)

BTW - LOVE THIS CAMERA! Not only does it work on 2000, it was SO simple to get it from the camera to the PC. Easier than what I read in the others manual. Otto my good man, you are correct sir! :noteworthy

nice clear picture and great hover  you really have smoothed it out since your first vids ;)

on the, doing it alone, with the camera, i think you should of zoomed it in a bit as i don't really want to look at the yard :YeaBaby: and seeing as it's only hovering you don't need the wide angle, give us more heli, yeah baby :banana

i have a panasonic and they are a top camera, the zoom on the mike is a great feature and i personally would rather listen to the heli in the vids than some of the music we have to put up with  i mean that sound of the electric motor and the whoosh of the blades cutting the air, yo man :Bang i love it

again good vid and flying

cheers chuck

Mike, that is a good picture.....your landings are getting pretty soft, have you considered getting rid of the gear yet?

Thanks Guys.

Chuck, I would have zoomed in, but being the first shots taken with the new camera, I wanted to make sure I got the heli in frame. As I do more, I am sure I will try to zoom in. My only real problem is, I do not have a cameraperson like most folks. So I have to set it up and go fly. And sorry you do not like tunes, for as soon as I can, I may be dropping some music into mine as well. The video stuff can be as fun as flying and fixing the B400. ;)

Lock, I have thought about taking them off. Part of me wants to just to see how much different it flies. But, I am scared that if I do take them off I will not want to put them back on. Right now, I really want to keep repairs to a minimum for I have spent a fair amount of $ on tools, camera, etc. I need to spend some money now on some other things. Have I mentioned I have too many money pits? Having the gear on there gives me a sense of security. I am thinking I need get to a more open area now; try some low level flying around to get more use to the heli. Now that I think I have the heli flying well after the two crashes, I need to start making some tweaks to my curves. I have still left them stock on the heli and playing around with them on the sim so I could sort of know what to expect.

If it does not rain this weekend, I may try to venture out to a park near my house that will give me room and a soft landing area should I need it. Oh yeah, and take the camera and tripod with me.

okay no rush - but you will be AMAZED at how much better it flies without them. Take your time.

I would wait until you've removed the gear to start curve-tweaking.
Take the gear off and get used to how it flys without them; then start fine-tuning.

Agree, dont start tweaking until gear is off.......why get used to other settings when it will feel completely different once they are off.

Yes boss. Shaking that tree boss, shaking that tree. Since you all have more experience than I, I shall take your advice and wait until I am ready to remove the training wheels.

well logically speaking it just makes no sense to play with settings while gear is on just cause those settings will act/feel different without gear......just have fun they way you are for now.

Hopefully my metal upgrade parts will arrive soon and I can start building that 600 all over again :)

Wahoo! :happyd

At first, I thought I would be happy with only the B4. Now, you guys have me thinking about something bigger, maybe even gas powered. :wow2:

Nitro is too loud, too messy, too much work to keep clean, and you cant fly everywhere, electric is the way to go (for me)

HeliMix

Well, I am more fond of electric over any fuel for I do not have to go to the LHS to get power. It is a miracle, but it comes out of these little holes in my walls and I can also get it out of my truck.

It is the flight times that make me wonder about it. I see guys with planes that can fly 15 - 20 mins. That would be nice. Hum... I wonder what the flight times of comparable size/power helis vs planes are. I have seen fuel helis fly, just do not remember how long they got.

Welp, got a new flight taped... Next door in the bigger yard. Wahoo. :woot Nice to have a camera with legs. Going to get it copied over to the PC and uploaded here shortly. Good flight, but I ran into some grass... I will show you what happens.

I'm drained after emptying a pack. I don't think my nerves could handle a 15-25 minute flight.
I need a couple minutes between packs to relax and remember how to breathe.
