New packs, shall I use them ?

Hi,

I just got myself another set of lipo's, but as you can see from the pic there a bit damaged. Not sure if it just cosmetic. I didn't get them from here in the UK so I don't really want to send them back and have to wait for more, what do you think ?

Is that a puffed cell? If it is, don't even think about using it, send it back to TP straight away. If it is just a wrinkle, it's probably O.K. assuming the impact wasn't enough to damage the cells inside.

No it's not a puffed cell, pretty sure of that. Looks like they have been dropped, both are damaged in the same place. The one closest in the pic is the worse the other has a slight dent but not too bad.

The box they came it looks ok and there was loads of bubble wrap on them. I think they must have been sent out like it.

If I charge them and theres a problem are they going to believe me that it was damaged to start with ?

I would return it and call first and see if they can cross ship the replacements.

I would send them back.
Especially if the box doesn't appear damaged.
If they were dropped prior to shipment (wouldn't surprise me) then the damage is totally unknown.
Kind of like buying a new car with a dent in the side. Makes you wonder how it got there, but you certainly wouldn't drive it off the lot without having a repair plan in order.
If you fly them and they go poof. I bet you will have a hard time getting TP to replace them. Personal experience on that one. :roll:

I had a pack of 5s3ps that I dinged very lightly before I ever flew them.

20 25 flights later the dinged cells puffed.

It was totally my fault and Charlie replaced them half price :noteworthy

Tanics ? their TP's

I plugged my TP205 into them, says there ok, but I still think I will send them back. Checked their website out of stock of them now :( must of been the last two packs.

I have had a couple of TP and Duralite packs I dinged just a tiny bit like that on foamies and the either puffed or would self discharge after they got dinged.

Best bet is to return them if you can.

I got reply from them very quick, said send them pack and as soon as they receive them they will ship out a new set. :thumbup:
