Greetings Gents:

I did an impulse purchase two weeks ago on that big auction site. I bought another R30. The advertisement was for an R30V2 with a Futaba 6EX radio and a crash kit. "RTF" just missing the canopy. I bought it for $265. Now, I didn't need another helicopter, just seemed like a great deal and I am usually willing to take my chances on these kinds of things. It finally arrived today in fine condition.

Unfortunately, it isn't a V2, but rather a V1 with a TT36 motor. The radio is a 6EXAP and is missing the charger. The servo's are JR (forget the numbers) and the gyro is a JR "gyro system". I can't find a number on it, though it has three components - the gyro, a receiver and a separate gain control. The helicopter has been used, but is pretty clean and will shine up just fine.

So my quandary - to keep or not to keep? Do I send the helicopter back to the seller because it isn't a V2? I am a beginner at this point, just working on FF. I thought I was getting a second V2. I was going to ditch the radio and have a cheap second bird. Otherwise, I could convert it to a V2, but I am going to have as much money as I would in a new kit plus a questionable engine. The other issue is shipping - one way or the other I am going to be out some cash.

Thoughts?

Thanks! Pittsjock

id send it back, i think its false advertising. E-bay would probably go after him for that too.
Converting to a V2 not only costs money but by the time your done you built a new helicopter for the most part, the TT36 is junk(from what ive seen of them). However, i would ask the gent first how he knows its a V2 and soforth, he could have bought it used thinking it was a V2 and now cant fly it. Just my .02
