Any thoughts on this heli its a 7 channel ccpm compared to a trex 450 would you say comparable

The only way it is comparable is the fact that they are both R/C helicopters. That is where the similarities end. The T-rex is far ahead in quality. Walkera helicopters in general suffer from erratic electronics, their radio/receivers are proprietary (they do not work with other brands) so if you want a better radio, you have to replace the rx as well. You can get a walkera to fly, but after spending all the money to do so, you could have bought a T-rex. Bear in mind, I am no T-rex fanboy, I do not own one, but they are an excellent helicopter with massive support. If you must go RTF, the Blade 400 is worth considering, but it has it's own issues according to those who have bought it. The Blade 400 is still much, much better than anything by Walkera...

The Wlakera 60B is a pretty good design IMO. I'm talking about the chassis, not the electronics.
The metal head, swash, and tail are a nice simple deisgn that is easy to set up and have loads of adjustments, including adjustable bell-hiller mixing and flybar ratio adjustability.

Personally I went with the Walkera 60B chassis and then added my own electronics.

I use a
Futaba 9CH TX
Castle Creations Berg 7 RX
ELF Hobbies 4200kv brushless motor and 30A speed control (only a 2A BEC, so I also added a Castle Creations 10A BEC).
I chose Hitec HS-65MG cyclic servos and an HS-81 for the tail.
I'm using a Futaba GY401 gyro.
My battery is a Hobbycity 1450mAh 25C Li-Po.

The built chassis was $100
The Futaba 9CH I bought used for $180, and intend to use it with planes and othe helis too.
The Futaba GY401 gyro was $95 used
the rest I bought new, but the brushless+ESC was only $40 and makes great power.

I was also able to find an entire replacement set of the CNC aluminum head + swash+ tail assembly+ flybar+4blades+tail boom for $50shipped on ebay.

Really not too bad at all, and if I want, I could move all those parts to a Trex 450 or Beam E4 later...

Even if you upgrade the electronics they are not very good, if your on a budget get one and use it as stock (get the 60B you need the brushless). The spindle and main shaft are small and bend easy, screws break easy.

After a while if you really like flying get something like a mini T

I bought a 36B, on a whim, and on the 3rd hover the ESC burned up. I waited for three weeks to get an RMS, since the CA seller did not have warranty parts. Once it was returned, I shopped around, for a TREX 450. YOu can start with a SA motor and ESC for about $200, but you need to add $75 for 3 x servos, $50 for tail servo, $125 for Gyro (GY401) and a transmitter/receivee combination. I almost bought a BLADE 400, but I already own a JR receiver and transmitter. I am setting up my 450, but struggling with getting the GYRO to STOP BLINKING.

Main shaft and spindle are same diameter as Trex 450...

Many Trex 450 components can be swapped to Walkera 60B.

The aluminum head on the 60B has adjustable flybar ratio... something even the Trex 500 lacks.

+1 with Vulcan Grey, Walkera get an awful lot of bad publicity, The stock electronics are poor and not really up to flying model helicopters, but they re sold as RTF many begginners buy them and are put off by them. The Walkera 60 is the reason I got back into Model Helicopters as I bought it on a whim just to see what the new generation of electrics were like. On the strength of what I found I bought a T-Rex600, an investment I was never going to make just on a whim. I still fly my Walkera and get a great deal of enjoyment from it, the only stock electronics left on it are the Gyro and the motor. If you are coming into this hobby with no experience and thinking the Walkera is a cheap route, beware to make it a viable beginners model you will need to upgrade the Tx /Rx as a minimum, or be prepared to be quickly disillusioned

id go with any number of T-rex 450 clones if if your just starting out and wanna get your feet wet without spending a bundle.....

the art-tech shark 450 is a very good choice imo (i have one and love it)
and theres the flasher 450 (another rex v2 clone), and there is the hone, i hear there pretty good also!

i paid 325.00 can. for my shark 450 in january of this year, it came rtf, the first thing i did in spring was get the dx6i, and i found it really improved the flight characteristics, other than that i have replaced the motor on the shark, i have at least 100 flights on this bird, and still enjoy it alot, as a matter of fact i piled it into the ditch about 1/2 an hour ago! broken main blades and bent cnc skids! cheap lesson!:DOH

trex 450 is way better than the Walkera heli. Even the eSky belt CP is better than No. 60. Walkera is not a good quality product.

i own a walkera 60. it came stock yes . but not with the 360 motor as advertised. i got it with a 400sd. the tx/rx are junk so upgrade to your own. i upgraded to my jr8103 . servos are ok but can be better. i am actually goin to swap the brushed unit out with brushless. after that it will be great to fly.... after all is siad and done, yes you'll have spent more on it but will be a great lil beginner heli to intermeddiate. i am actually using mine before i goto my century hawk sport.....

I have Walkera 60B 2,4GHz RTF set. I changed 400SD motor for walkera 3500kv motor with Dragonsky 30 ESC all together for 30$ + 1800mAh 3s 15C battery for another 30$ and no problem with this heli.

I have a Venom Night Ranger 3DXL, which is quite similar to the Walkera #60. I far prefer the Venom versions of things, as they have excellent support (Walkera has none, that I am aware of).

I seem to have gone the way that Vulcangrey did, except that I went the JR/Spektrum route.

I purchased it as a "bare bones" model and installed JR/Spektrum electronics with an Align XL motor and speed control, and a 401 gyro. This model still has the stock plastic head. The blades are CF and slightly longer than the stock ones (off brand, but they fit).

I also changed the tail rotor blades out for GREEN KBDD blades (very important and it looks cool with all the green anodizing).

While I am not really a 3D flier it will flip, roll, fly inverted backwards right with a TREX 450 SE (of which I have two, with the same electronics for comparison). It is not quite as stable, but just about as quick and flies extremely well.

I do not have a lot of time on it, at this point, but I like it so far (I have actually had it for over a year, but got busy with nitro machines and neglected it). I just recently got it back out and installed the JR 12X in it.

Not an Atom, but something I can keep in the trunk of the car and fly at a local park, on the spur of the moment. It is now in the regular rotation of parkflier helicopters (for those areas to small to fly the Atom or the Knights) along with the two TREX 450's and the Mini-Titan.

Venom has excellent customer service, Walkera has none.

the new walkera electronics are quite good. i have flown dozens of 1#b even in force 4 winds, the 60 is a good heli to start i would buy it with the standard brushed motor and replace it after it would have burnth, with a dualsky or hakker, at the club some guys are getting over 20 min times with a dualsky motor and esc and 2200mah batt, also the design of the mechanics of the 60 is more efficiant than the trex because of less moveing parts.
the plastic head is good for beginers but if you whant 3d try the metal one cos i get impreseve manuvability on my 1a
