Why is Mr. Finless so quiet on this? I remember reading a post of his that said "Avant Aurora - I WILL HAVE ONE OF THESE"

How long for the build vids Bob? I assume you got an advance kit?

I talked to Agosto and he said they were shipping the kits out this week. Seeing they are in San Diego, those guys will end up getting the kits first and then they'll start popping up all over the place.

So I suppose that's the end of the argument! :)

Kits are being delivered as directly stated by Augosto himself.

ok...
i find the aurora prettier than the T700...
the canopy is really nice!

but i have a question:
if the aurora is 100% perfect, why on earth do we have to modify one part to put the YS 91 on it?
that is one of the "most used" motors on fields!

oh, i forgot, you can also buy the extra support that allow you to put the motor on...
sounds a little like Align "upgrades"... :thinking

same thing about the white canopy:thumbdown:

skunkworx: i think a lot of people are not listening what augusto is saying anymore...

Not sure about your fields, but the OS is probably 15 to 1 or more ratio at the fields I fly at.

I have built and flown some align, but mostly high end machines for the last 5 years. I have never gotten anything but a white canopy with them. I am not interested in a cookie cuter canopy with a high end machine for me. I want custom paint jobs and if you look at my T-REX machines you will see custom paint jobs not what everybody else has...

Amazing how so many people bust on this heli, it is painfully obvious that you are not experienced in the market that the Aurora is in. I just don't get it. I have owned over 10 MA high end machines as well as many others, and they don't come cookie cutter style.. that is for the machines for the masses, nothing wrong with them, but high end is for people who want custom not people who want what everybody else has...

Same here! They are both excellent birds, so it really just comes down to model preference. I also think the Aurora is much smoother and a better built heli after seeing the two side-by-side and seeing them fly. For the most part, the Aurora should meet or exceed most people's expectations, but it's the few trash talkers that will really bog things down. I'm sure it won't be completely "perfect" as nothing mass produced can be, but at the same time, it was probably a last second oversight because as Bob said in the video, he was using a different motor (which is probably different from the type the team pilots were using), so it's not too bad of a slip-up. Besides, they have addressed the problem and I'm sure it will be included in future kits.

Despite what anyone feels about the way Augosto does business, they are out now, and the heli speaks for itself! I'd rather hear about the ingenuity of fellow hobbyists that get the kit flying despite the setback. I'm sure everyone who has or gets one will be thrilled with it anyways.

I just pre-ordered for the second batch going to R/C direct. I'm not sure when the next batch is going to be in (last I checked) neither are they...but I'm really pumped

I was bouncing back and forth 'tween the Aurora and the T700. I can only afford to fly/crash one heli at a time and I want to go big...so the 90 was for sure. Personally, I like the way the Aurora looks inside and out. Outside, it's definitely one of the most stream-line, curvy birds out there. On the inside, it looks like everything is super easy to get to. I've always been kind of OCD about my R/C's being clean...cars/trucks/helis all of it.
I don't care what people have to say about how Augusto ran the pro-production stuff, it's in production now (as are spares) and to me that's what counts. I'm not a big fan of the way Align markets their stuff either. They kind of remind me of Traxxas for those of you that were/are interested in the cars/trucks. They would market their's as the fastest, most innovative product out there and the masses would jump all over it. However if you ever went to a bigger race, you'd see almost all of the better drivers running something else. Not to bash on align....especially for the price they make a great product, I just don't think they're really in the same field as Avant/MA and some others

Well I'll second that notion Mike!!!

I too run RC cars and actually ahve a Jato3.3. It definately is super fast, but nearly worthless as soon as you hit something. I think the Aligns are great to start out on, or if you're on a budget, but I would like to have something more solid now that I crash a lot less. Flying Align, I've found that 60% of my crashes are mechanical failures anyways. Not that I want to bash on them either, but I spent quite a bit of money on my 450 which was superceded a few months later by the V2. I would rather get a heli that will fly perfect as-is from the factory than to have to constanly get new stuff for it here and there.

I definately agree the Avant is up there with the MA ships, and would love to get one if my budget opens up just a bit more. SOOO many choices.....such a dinky paycheck!!!!! :arggg:

yep, i also think Align is good in the way that they are making the hobby affordable for a lot more people than it was a few years ago...
but their marketing: using customers as beta-testers is crap...
a little like windows do.
that's why i'm running mac!

skunkworx: as far as augusto, it's a good thing i'm not considering the 90's now because it would be a huge deal for me!
i would have a hard time choosing between "the sexiest heli and a terrible liar" or an "older heli".

Terrible liar?? If you believe the one gallon "experts" and the keyboarders, maybe. I have done business with CX and Augusto as a buyer of their stuff for the last 5 years and now as someone they pay for advertising. Augusto has never lied to me or BS'd me in any way and has always stood behind his stuff 110%. He is always one of the very first to pay his bills he has advertised with us for over 1.5 years and in the beginning over 3 years ago.

Consider the source of the BS and either buy a TOP OF THE LINE heli or don't. I am tired of the personal attacks on the guy who owns the company who has proven himself to me, and I REALLY HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH HIM. Have you?

Very well put WillJames! I couldn't have said it better myself!

Like I've said before many, many times; I'd rather wait for the best heli I can buy rather than get a decent heli and have to constantly upgrade it-even if it means waiting for it to be darn near perfect. There aren't many things in the world that come out perfect anyways (Oh wait, come to think of it nothing is perfect!), and you sure as heck can't please everyone. I got to talk with Augosto himself and in no way is he the monster that everyone makes him out to be. Either buy his helis and love them, or get over it and have fun upgrading your "old" heli. Complaining will get you no where real fast!

wow...
i think it's a good thing a put a smilley at the end of my sentence....
otherwise some people couldn't get that joke
...
to much testosteron in here IMO.

as i said before the aurora is by far the sexiest,
but don't tell me augusto was 100% honest with his customers on this one...
you can't say that after 2 years of releasing "really soon"!
come on!;)

i'm sure the guy is not that bad... i agree on that.
and plus he did something incredible: create a new heli....
which i can't do myself...:noteworthy:noteworthy:noteworthy

but a little more of communication would have been better for me, and plus, that would have avoid people bashing about the heli itself.
don't u think?;)

anyway, you right... the heli is out, and now that's the only thing that matters, i guess...
;)

Well no offense intended! I just think too many people jumped on the bashing bandwagon and most of them had no intentions of even buying the kit. Or at least not without seeing someone else be a guinea pig! I was just hoping it was the end of the complaints. Oh well! :)

The problem with the avant release was it wasnt ready for sale!!!. I know of professional pilots who were sponsored by avant and when they first got their machines they were shite!!!! it has taken all this time to perfect the machine as avant WOULD NOT release it until it was ready. Now with the t700 im seriously hoping they do a similar thing cos ifthey release that with issues it WILL ruin aligns rep
