Yeh the Aurora popping out a month or two before the 700 is going to hurt align somewhat but not much, if the 700 came out before the aurora,, avantrc would have been hangin on by a string,, , The 700 is a nice heli and I trust align alot more than avantrc after the two year promises,, and plus the aurora is stupid expensive to crash, the replacement parts for it are more then a MA stratus,, I can only hope the 700 parts are cheap, say 17 dollars for two main shafts,, that would be awesome if the parts were in that range,,

You're kidding, right? I'm not trying to defend Avant, but the part prices for the Aurora are not that far out of line with other 90's (with the exception of TT). Some parts are a little expensive, like the main shaft at $28, but other parts are pretty cheap, like the CF frames at $70/side.

Isn't the tail boom for the aurora $40.

There is a reason why align is going to kill avantrc. Align actually puts stuff their stuff out in a reasonable amount of time. There parts aren't "killer" expensive, and you can get there parts anywhere. Who wants to pay $15 for 1 flybar and $42 for 1 tailboom. Come on.

The bottom line is align doesn't play," It will be out in two weeks game."

Wow! Those parts must be made of gold. Flybar for the Align 600N
is $1.99 and the tailboom is $5.49. Same parts for the 700N probably won't be much more. I crash a lot. One more reason for me to wait for Align's 700N.

Me personally... I'd buy an Aurora, however the Align following is huge and will out sell the beast due to mass marketing strategy and price....

I just hope Align doesn't produce a bunch of 690 blades that blow apart like that one large batch of 600 blades did. A machine this big isn't something to be cheap on, their is a safety factor we need to be aware of. A .90 out of control do to a faulty part(s) isn't something me or my family needs to be around. Am I saying the 700 will have faulty parts??? I don't want to be rude so lets just say time will tell as it did on the 450, 500 and 600.

My best advise is this if your dead set on a 700.... Give it at least a one year run in the hands of the public to beta test before you go party with your hard earned money. At least this way many of the bugs will be solved and fixed. You will also have piece of mind while flying with your wife and kids present. Think about your son or daughter standing by you while your flying.....

Or if you don't want to wait on the 700 public beta testing..... cough up another $300 and own a quality machine that has had it's tail ran into the ground 500 times with several hundreds of hours of combined flight time. You will own a machine that's proven to stay together during hard 3D and the family will be nice and safe while cheering you on.

$300 more dollars? I thought the Aurora was $985 and wasn't the 700 being projected at $800?

Thanks,
Cameron

I think Align is going to win this one. That was a rush decision to bring out the Aurora, they knew that Align was coming out with the T700N, So they made the decision to put into people mind to wait for the Aurora.

I can bet you most people will not get the Aurora until Christmas, the said they are supplying the European market first, no mention on Heli Proz????

My money is on Align 700N more places to buy it and parts will be cheap. I think Align has experience in Nitro, and the T700N is just a better product over the T600N.

I'm sure glad for the guy, at least his bank manager will be happier.

It will be what is available when you come to buy a .90 size ship, and if the Align is available why wait? I'm going to get both but the Align will be first (too much demand for the Aurora and long waiting list and few places to get it)

Thanks

Robert

I think you better re-read the release at AvantRC.com, it has been revised, Heliproz is on the list.

Heliproz now has it listed on their site too..... (see attached)

Robert,
I got a call from Heliproz today , they will have the Aurora at the same time , Augusto said that is how the distribution was going to work back sometime ago. I will go with the Aurora for now and see how the T-Rex 700 works out later. I will watch for your post once you get your 700 build done.
Thanks

But other parts are cheapp,,???????? what else is a more important common crash part than a mainshaft,, I bet the Align shafts will be 2 for 21 dollars,, and the avant is 26 for 1,, and as for other parts who cares,, out of probrably 90% of crash you have to replace the mainshaft, spindle shaft, boom, flybar, and blades,,

Align has more experience with nitro? Avant has been in the business longer, they made conversion kits for another manufacturer's model, improving on the design. If you are willing to bet that Align will be in the hobby shop before the Aurora, I'll take your money. How can anyone make the statement "the 700 is (or will be) be than the 600"? 700 isn't out and the 600 is good, but there are better helicopters out there, trust me.

hey clay I don't know about you but I would never by an aurora it is to expensive the design of the 700 is going to be almost as good as the avant, and if I had an avant I would not get a sponsorship from align.

Compairing the avant to the 700 is like compairing a mustang to a ferrari. They both may be 90's but that it.

one of the main things I look for is parts avail at my LHS...Align has proven to be sold everywhere...whould be surprised if walmart started to carry parts for the TXXX line..I'm lucky that my LHS likes high end Helis so they might carry the Avant line of stuff bu odds on bet is align will dominate by shear market penetration.

I think most of us are going to own both kits, but which one will you beat around?

Align has proven them self with the T600N, and yes you have to buy some upgrade part to make it better, but I think they have learned lesson and made improvement and incorporated that into the T700N.

I am going to get both for sure, but the first will be Align, I know I don't have to be on any waiting list and will get my kit within one month of release.

Time will tell.

$185 more... I thought the 700 was going for $700.

If it were only that simple....

I'm DYING to fly an Aurora. They are bad ass, and i've seen HC abuse them to no end and they just smile and say " May I have another?"... BUT this is the real world. At about $2600 to get one in the air, it ain't cheap. And that price would be acceptable if the upfront cost was all there was. BUT people crash, that is unless you want a "hangar queen". I plan on flying the piss out of mine... So now, crash cost come into play... $27 shaft, $42 boom, $45 clutch... wow... The cost of ownership if you plan on spanking it could get out of control fast. Think about average crash where blades and canopy are almost a given? I'm thinking 300-500 per crash...

Not saying the T-rex is the way to go... far from it. It's just that if I put up the $$$ for the Avant machine, I may be scared to fly it aggressively, and for me that would take all the fun out of it.....

Maybe I should just stick to my 50's for awhile...
