Does anyone know if the sexy Italian (green, white, red) colored canopy is going to come with the Aurora?
I hope it doesn't come with a plain white one. I hate painting, and I hate waiting for someone to paint a canopy. I've waited as long as 4 months in the past :arggg:
This is one area Align really does a good job! So many color choices. I hope Avant at least offers a couple of color combos!!!

Ummm. I think he is referring to the other canopy paint jobs align has made. The canopy paint design that all the align team pilots are using for the 700n isn't going to be the production one.

Ditto. I want the Align connivence that I've gone accustomed to... Things like pre-painted canopies for reasonable prices. I too would like the Italia scheme... Maybe canomod will fill the void. They do a reasonable job of copying others designs.

I am relatively certain the kits will come with a white canopy.

It comes with a white. I have order my Canopy from Arizona.

Yes the kit ships with a white canopy. And from what it sounds like there will be some pre painted canopies available, when..not sure?

On regards to the Arizona canopy, Bill made his own molds of the aurora canopies, and they are twice as heavy as the Avant canopies. Both were with paint on them. So it would be best to get ahold of Avant canopies and have them sent to your favorite painter.

No offense to Avant, but that's lame! A few years ago maybe not, but today it's LAME. Not many flyers today want to take the time to have 2 canopies sent out for paint! I say 2 because people who crash (like me) will have to have 2.
The norm today (21st century) is to have a painted canopy. As I stated before, I've waited up to 4 months for canopies to be painted, AND that sucks!
Avant should at least have one standard scheme available to the public. My vote goes to the Italian color scheme :) I'd pay $100 for it! A custom canopy can be upwards of $200-$300! I'm guessing Align will have 700 canopies for as little as $80.
Plain white canopies are yester-year!
when you say the norm nowadays i am not sure i agree, i mean sure one manufacturer is doing maybe another but not the norm in my book at all.

The Norm is actually to send white canopies. Align is doing the painted ones and that is cool, but on high end helis, it is not the norm.. at least not yet IMHO. Personally at least for me, I want a custom paint job on my Aurora, and even my T-REX 600 machines, I fly custom painted cans. I fly the stock painted FG can on my 450V2, but on something like the Aurora, only a sweet custom painted can that is only on my heli will do for me.

How much difference does the extra weight make......do we need a turbo at 6,000 feet to get off the ground?
