I've had my phoenix sim running fine for half a year, and I stopped using it for a couple of months.
During that time I installed turbotax on my machine, as well as some other software.

All of a sudden, my phoenix sim stopped working. Going to the transmitter calibration
page and wiggle the sticks, and there is no reaction from phoenix. After some fiddling
on my transmitter (a hitec optic6 with spectra module), I noticed that if I set it to negative
shift, then phoenix would work fine.

I don't remember if I had my transmitter in positive or negative shift, but since it was in positive
shift, I assume it was always in positive shift.

Question is, does phoenix support both positive and negative shift? If I ever move over to
a spektrum dx6i/7 with positive shift, will it still work? Why doesn't my phoenix work with
positive shift?

thanks

It works with JR and Futaba so I don't see why you have a problem.

Could it be your Tx or your adapter cable?

Well I've had it working fine on both the DX6i and DX7 so I doubt you'll have a problem.

My phoenix-sim used to work with either positive or negative shift, I think. But
now it only works with negative shift. Setting the transmitter to positive causes
phoenix to not see any stick movement.

I'm running the latest version of phoenix-sim. When I was running a much older
version (say a year ago), it seemed to work with my transmitter set to positive
or negative shift.

Perhaps it has something to do with the "profile" of the transmitter? I think
my original version of phoenix didn't have hitec optic6 listed, now it does. May be
when the transmitter profile is optic6, it only listens to negative shift as Futaba/Hitec
transmitters generally send out?
