Food for thought, consider this. This is a copy/paste from someone on the 600 site I visit. He references the B400 saving his interest in the hobby so its not too off topic :)
If you want to see what nitro is all about with out spending alot, get a cheap RC car. I now realize it will be the last nitro I own. I HATE cleaning all the oil up.
I have to remember to charge more things for the nitro car than for any of my heli's/airplanes. Heli'/airplanes its charge the TX and the main batt. For the slime spitter its charge the TX, RX, glow plug driver, and starter. Forget 1 and its a no go.
I cant imagine how a improperly tuned nitro heli would act, at least with a car it sputters then dies and rolls to a stop, no hi velocity verticle impacts with the earth.
One day Ill actualy build my esmart. I think the blade400 won me back to heli's, the CP2 almost killed my interest in heli's.

 Dang, I'm honored. You started a new thread for the topic even. Cooooool
Yeah. I had a nitro car once. That is one of the many reasons I said in the other thread I liked electric. Less mess. Batteries have come a long way as have motors etc. I would guess that there will be changes, hopefully some serious ones in my life time, to where you could get longer flight times off a battery. I do not really know where they are with them right now for I don't keep up. But it will happen. Man always wants more. It will come. :YeaBaby:

I must be an "Old Timer" because I've been a Nitro Nut for YEARS & Years! I tried electric many moons ago on a lil R/C Trainer plane. The power to weight ratio was almost comical. It was either barely have enough capacity to get off the ground and make a couple of loops or not get off the ground and have plenty of capacity.
Today's controls, motors and batteries are leaps and BOUNDS over the generation I had a few years back. Actually the flying field I used to belong is almost 100% E now! That's a FEAT in itself!! Now I doubt I'll EVER go back to Nitro or GAS (Yes I'm a MAJOR GASSER). The clean up alone is so MUCH better. I used to take probably 30 minutes after a day of flying just wiping down the plane, de-fueling, and plugging the muffler so residue inside didn't drip and stain carpet (Experience there).
I've done Nitro cars, boats, trucks and planes. I've given up boats trucks & cars but I've given up NITRO everything!
E is for MEEEEE!!

A guy I know who is a scale flyer dogs on me constantly for not getting a nitro for first CP. Why would I want deal with an inconsistant engine as well as trying to learn to fly? Maybe someday but not anytime soon.

I've got a hawk sport that I need just a few more items to complete it. The shear size of it is awe inspiring. But I know it will be a gentle slow turd, compared to the B400.
I used to play with nitro also.
Had an Associated RC10 GT and a HPI Nitro RS4. High maintenance, but a blast. I always was a motorhead. But I really like the electric heli.No messes and a lot less work. Leaves more time for flying..
I just need more packs...
