As some of you may have seen, I have not been having a good experience with the 2100t and 3153mg combo. So, for grins, I tried using a Blade CP's EFLRS75 servo on the tail (it was the only thing I had as a spare).
In non-digital mode (it's a non-digi servo) it performs as well as the 3153mg, perhaps even slightly better, I tried multiple linkage setups with various gain levels. However, I was still not happy with it.
So, it's a cheap servo... I tried it in digital mode, found the gain's sweet spot... it's damn near rock solid. Despite what the specs read, this servo is noticeably quicker than the 3153mg.
So, I guess I'm going to look for a new digital tail servo. In my opinion, the 3153mg = :BSS

i agree. this servo seems very slow on my heli, now that i'm getting a feel for it. i might go with the servo designed to work with this gyro. 3400?

Bleh. Well, maybe the eflight servo isn't up to snuff or something. 1st flight today ended abruptly when the 200 began some 90' wags. Was odd, not the usual hunting wag, as it was slower than that. Rough auto onto asphalt, cracked a skid.
I dialed back the gain just a couple clicks, and the 2nd flight was fine. I'm not sure if it was the servo, of if I just have the gyro too close to the motor. I'm going to make an aluminum battery tray, and move the gyro to the front.

i've had all kinds of weird problems like that. try unplugging it, and plug it back in. sometimes i think it doesn't initalize right.

An update on this topic. Today I tried using the digital version of the BladeCP servo, DS75H. This servo is very fast, however, it also performs poorly. No matter what gain setting of servo hole is used, I could not get it to fly well.
So I returned to using the non-digital servo, running in digital mode... rock solid. I don't understand why the digital version performs so bad.
Perhaps the BEC is inadequate with the motor running, 3 dsp60s and the real digital tail servo?

I've been running the Logitech 3100 servo with the 2100 gyro and is just awesome.

I'm now using a JR DS380G digital tail servo along with the CSM 420e gyro. brilliant combination, and very fast servo (.06 sec) I have also had to change all of the original bluebird servos that came with the bird, for very erratic flying / hovering. Any cyclic input resulted in the heli dropping like a stone, and it had an odd 'shivering / shaking' like effect periodically.

I'm probably going to bite the bullet and get the 3100 servo. I have no problems with the cheap eflight servo, it flies great, but I am very concerned about it's reliability. After flights, I always feel it, and it's barely warm, so I think it will be ok for a while.

Bullet bitten. I installed the 3100G servo, which is noticeably faster than the e-flight servo, and worlds faster than the 3153mg servo (which IMO should not even be considered for the tail). Only had a little time to tweak it (stormy and windy) but it seems to hold better than the e-flight servo. No sport/3d flying though, just 1/4 piro and hard stops and pitch pumping.

Still new at this. Are you guys talking about using the Logitec gyro? Is the 3100 Logitech? Anyone running a gy401 and Futaba tail servo that is happy with the set up?
I was using 401 with a 3154 and fried the servo. I switched to a DSP 60 on tail and seems to be ok.

I have three with that setup. No fried 3154 so far but they get hot.

I've been running the Logitech 3100 servo with the 2100 gyro and is just awesome.
I can 2nd this..... Awesome combo.
For a while I was using this combo on both the Gaui 200 and the Trex 450.
I am told this is the same servo as the Logitech one:
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5195
it is only $23,
I have no experience with this servo so I don't know, but hey half the price and the specs look good...

Great find Knuckles:thumbup: I've been looking to put together 200SD... with this find and the following $5 part, it gets me the LTG-3100, for under $30!!
