You look ready to take them off. I had my first flight today with out them (and no crash:happyd). It is very scary, you almost have to learn how to fly again. But after two flights it was great.

:clappp Congrats Dart. Yeah, if I get my main gear issue figured out this weekend, I think I am definately going to cut them back some. I have a spare one way bearing. Hopefully there is nothing wrong with the gear itself. Will see how it feels after cutting them back and go from there. I think trying to fly around much with them as large as they are makes it difficult. Especially when there is a breeze. They act like sails and pull me all over it seems.

HeliMix - MIKE just grab a beer and do it, you are sooooooo ready.
All of us see it except you......just remember if you crash it's Otto's fault :YeaBaby: Well now Lawndart can take some credit too......I'll swear I told you to take it slow ;)
Seriously you are READY!

 Thanks guys. I definately need to be in a much more open area when I do. That way, if I get into trouble, I can bring her up (hopefully) like I do in the sim, get my act together, and then bring her down (key word again is hopefully, h o p e f u l l y, hopefully).

Good news. Took a good look at my heli today and that sound was nothing but the belt slipping. :banana
Very good news since I spent the day at the local flying club... got to fly a plane on trainer. I did not take off nor land but in control the whole time... wait, once I asked him to take over. Guess I will be getting a plane soon.
So I got home, had to fly. Had looked her over this AM and noticed the belt seemed loose. So this afternoon I tightened it up, took two batteries next door, and had a great session and no more strange noises. Got some video (of course). Training gear still on as it was rather gusty.
Met eyeflyhelis today, he is a member of HF too. Glad to see there is another heli pilot in the local club, which is basically all planes, but great guys. If you see this, thanks for the advice eyeflyhelis. Higher hover was a great exercise.
Ok, got lots of video to deal with. Planes from today and then my two batteries this afternoon. Hopefully I can get this mess done and still have time for some sim flying tonight (at a reasonable time).
Hope you guys all had a great day too and we have no casualties to report.

Hi helimix, cutting the the gear back is great Idea. But cut them back a little more then you think you should this way there really isn't much left....
( ah hell just take them off :YeaBaby: )
Think of this way they didn't help you not crash before. so what is the difference you are real good at hovering, taking off and landing are real smooth. just start off like hover 2-3 feet off the ground. try early in the morning not much wind usually
(hey if am gonna get blamed for this I might as well be the one who talked you into it) :rolling( THATS FOR YOU LOCK LOL)
Where should I get the Phoniex sim from... whats a good price
Flying with someone sounds like allot of fun.

Phoenix, I just ordered mine directly from them. Took four days to get it from England. Regular shipping to me in the US was $5.00. Great deal.
Otto, it is a given, if I crash from here on, it is Lock's fault. :wow2:
I don't care what I am doing. ;)
The gear will be coming off soon. They would have today had it not been so windy. Morning flying? Shoot... Bad enough having to get up to go to work. I definately ain't getting up before the wind wakes up on the weekends.

planes are fun to fly. I flew planes a long time ago when I was a kid, and it really helps me with flying the heli in forward flight. No need to pick one over the other, I say fly both!
