Hi everybody,

Here is the story of a real nightmare.
It was last sunday , good wind and sun . A very good day to go fly with my Agusta 109 and Raptor. After playing like a child with my Raptor 550 E, i decide to go fly with my Agusta Funkey based on a Hurricane 550 carbon.
When the engine get RPM, the heli shakes immediately very strong and broke some plywood inside the fuse and the tail support.
When I return home I begin the autopsy. I remark a smal think, one paddle have an angle up and the other was OK. The problem was that i have forgot to put the smal screw on one padle.
This is consequence of this destructive vibration!!!!
I change the plywood support and the rotor mast but also the two ball bearings that has suffered on this 5 second fly.

I have made a test fly today and all return good. So never forgot to inspect the paddle before a fly and don't forgot like me this small scew.

that's a beautiful heli you have there. any chance of some detailed pics showing the plywood inside and how the frame is mounted?

If you want some other shoots of this heli, here is the link. :

It is easy to make, have no fear to put your hely in a fuse. It is an alternative for the 3D, a cool fly just for pleasure of the eyes.

is there a reason you have tape over your paddle holes?

The padle are the stock one from Gaui. They are made with many holes and covered with a transparent sticker.

Funny you mention this.. do you remove the tape from your hurri paddles? I still have mine on because I thought it was necessary..

It is necessary because you would lose power and/or have turbulences!

not it's not necessary. i've had mine removed since day one, and no issues. and what if a corner edge of the tape starts to peel mid flight? that's going to make one hell of a racket, not to mention what it would do to the aerodynamics of it. you two are the first two people i've seen that have left it on. to each, his own though. leaving it on likely won't hurt it, as long as the tape stays put.

now i'm really curious.. is there any change in flight at all with them removed?

I heard from a 3D pilot that he tested it and you can't fly it without getting side effects. If it wouldn't really matter, why isn't every one flying with Swiss cheese? From an aerodynamic point of view, I don't think that it's an good idea. But if someone makes other experiences, that's okay...
