Flew today in high winds, low visibility (foggy) and low ceilings. Dumb.
Here is the carnage. Pic doesnt do it justice! Everything is broken... servo cases, arms, 6100 antenna wire, hell even the lipo's balance tap. Rather impressive I must say:shock::shock::shock:

I started to say that at least you had a parts heli -- then again, maybe not.
Seriously, sorry to see a bird in that condition. Climb back in the saddle...

Hey guys don't feel bad! You can't improve without pushing the limits and I've been pushing it hard the last few weeks so I was due. I've also improved a bunch over that time so I'm not upset.
Plus I look forward to the challenge of getting her flying again:)

Thats really carnage so to speak. You wish you had Geico for helis huh. Can you salvage some parts out there? Sorry for that and I will also come that way someday. Oh we should have a crash pics thread.

SeanOC,
Even my heli crash nightmares don't look that bad.
Come clean...you got pissed and ran over it with the car.;)
Looks like you and the Blade are gonna be spending some time together.
Good luck with the rebuild.

Is that covered under home owners?
I'm a noob, I guess this is what I have to look forward to.
Thanks for teaching me the lesson "push hard, but not past you're limits."
Good luck on the rebuild.

I'll find out wednesday when I tear her down and start the rebuild... I have a 3 day trip to fly before then and waiting on readyheli order anyway.
I suspect the motor, esc, and servos are OK aside from 2 cracked servo cases. Surprisingly a lot of the head parts are salvageable with only the usual culprits failing from what I can tell.. grips, fx shaft, main shaft etc...
Heres another good one for you guys.... I actually snapped the upper Jesus bolt. Hows that for impact!

Ouch! Good luck with the rebuild at that point the PNP model might be a more cost effective option?

I've done that too - took me forever to figure it out both the screw head and bolt stayed in place. When I held the tail rotor the main would still spin thought for sure the belt was fried.

Thanks, I should start it tomorrow night. The PnP is upwards of $300 and includes all electronics and servos I dont need. All in all I broke about $100 worth or parts in the crash and half of which I had on hand. My readyheli order was under $60 so It was all that bad.

Sounds good, for others though that may run into problems and that may not have the spare parts on hand:
There are some heli's listed without the electronics on eBay for $116.95 buy it now and $19.95 shipping. Comes in original box etc..
Just do a search for blade 400 then click the buy it now tab.

Just spent $100 at the LHS. Stripped all 3 Hitec 65 servos, broke the frame, rotors, tail boom, skids, main gear and a ton of other parts. Lost a few bearings too. The feather shaft just snapped, it did not bend, snapped.

Nice! You definitely did more head damage than I did but I should have you on parts, we'll see. I almost have her back together but I am waiting for an hs-65 case and some bearings to come in at the LHS. Should be here today or tomorrow, will post pics.
