View Full Version : Scale builds
Now that my Evo 50 is up and flying, very smoothly, I am thinking ahead to my next build. Has anyone built any of the hirobo scale bodies and if so how much did they like them? Does the Hirobo Scale bodies include mechanics or is it just a body? I am thinking about the hughes 500D as then next project.
Thanks for any and all info.

the 500d is georgious... I believe it is based on EVO 50 mechanics, can't comment on the build or anything but I was looking at a friend's last weekend and cannot believe how cool they are, never considered buying a scale heli but that one is cool, good taste lol

I love the look of that heli, not sure why, just do. It is based on the Evo 50 mechanics I am sure, but my biggest question is are the mechanics included. For the price I sure hope they would be, but in the same breath I could see where maybe they wouldn't be. $895.00 seems like a lot of money for just a body, but coming from the Automotive industry I know quality work especially fiberglass/body work is expensive. Just trying to figure out how much of a budget I have to ask the cheif finacial officer for, so she doesn't divorce me due to lack of funds, lol.

p.s. If lack of funds was all it would take, she would never have married me, lol!!

haha I hear ya nate, I'll find out for you, the one I've seen has the sd-g metal head stuff so I'm thinking it doesn't come with that, there are probably some sort of integral frame components as the landing and rear of the body need some way of attaching, I'll find out for ya

Cool, Thanks. I really appreciate the help!!

I'm pretty sure that price is for the (painted) body alone. Using your own Evo for the guts.
Unfortunately, they don't offer it in gelcoat only... Which is beyond me. I guess they figure that everyone wants to fly the same color... :arggg:
They have a couple other bodies for the Evo, Agusta A109 for one. I'll have to check my catalog when I get a chance.
Yes, I did see some of the other bodies that they have available, But the hughes is the one that really grabs my attention. I too wish they offered it in a gelcoat, but just because they don't doesn't mean you can't repaint it! I guess I just need to plan on the body plus mechanics plus paint!! I am going to try to get saved up for a project for this coming winter.
