Well I've been waiting over 3 weeks for parts.

Friday I was over at the LHS to see if by some miracle they might have suddenly stocked something I needed.

The guys had a Belt sitting on the counter they were looking over. Turns out it was a return and it had been crashed pretty good. The guy that returned it said the radio glitched and caused the crash. (yea right) Long story short, I bought the wrecked Belt minus electronics for $30 including a new set of blades, a couple feathering shafts and the motor.

Well of course when I got home with my parts bird, everything I had been waiting for had arrived in the post.

So now I've got lots of spare parts.

I also had order a full CNC set and that arrived as well.

So today I've been pieceing everything together and I started assembling the CNC head about an hour ago. But they must have messed up my order because I didn't get - THE 'FRIGGIN THIRD HAND YA NEED TO PUT THIS $%%^^$# TOGETHER!! :arggg:

Seriously guys, how does an old fart with shakey hands and bad eyes hold everything together while tightening the screws on opposite ends of the feathering shaft? And how in hell do you get the flybar holder thru the hole in the head? And why is the inside race on one bearing holder wider than the other? And why do I do this to myself?

Ok, I'm going to go up to the fridge and get a beer now....

This is where patience and concentration comes handy, together with 3 or 4 beers to stop the shaking of the hands :cheers
My heli is ready to fly and all batts are charged , the weather is very fine and my wife is hanging up the laundry over MY LANDING AND TAKEOFF STRIP :bomb:

:lol::lol: You guys! Erwin took the words right out of my mouth . Get yourself another drink and at least a pair of 2.5 magnification glasses (yes my friend it does come to that) and have another go. Oh and there's nothing like a ten year old son around the place when things get really tough! but I guess it's a bit late in the day to get into that one :lol::lol:. We're with you brother, we're feeling for you :lol::lol::thumbup:

And when the darkness and gloom just get to be too much ................. there's always the Lama :noteworthy

Yep, it takes patience [which I admit I lost yesterday!!!!!!!!!] and a good pair of glasses!!!!! But we're on your side here. I am 49, need glasses to work on the little beastie, and am hampered by having a hand in a cast. But as a true Taurean [if you believe that bull!!!!!] I am peristent - took me about an hour yesterday just to fit a new feathering shaft, then on the setup, went and blew 2 servos. Talk about 2 forward 3 back..........

Good luck and stick with it

Mike

Yep, beer is the answer. I learned a long time ago never to open up a computer or work on delicate mechanics without it. It's a closely guarded secret, but now that you're a member of the Brotherhood of the Belt, these mysteries can be made known to you. Use this knowledge well. ;)

Working on my first can before figuring out how to make a 12 mm motor shaft reach a main gear 15 mm away... I expect by the third one I'll be ready to dremel my own if need be.

Oh, and an Igor is great to have around when you need a hand. They've been known to fetch one in five minutes flat.

Ok, I'm much better now. :)

Us scandan.. er scandavns...er swedes! owe much to Martin Luther, who among others things stated that "we know God wants men to be happy because he gave us beer!" We know, we know, he was German, but we try not to hold that against him ;)

Anyway, had a couple beers, calmed down, told the 15 yr old to hold that allen wrench right there, and got the CNC head put together. I'm now watching setup videos, waiting for the wind to calm down and, having another beer. Hey, it's Saturday, I'm allowed! :cheers

Oh, and thanks for the support guys!

All the best bro.:)

I just spent all day running round after spares following a suprise mechanical failure at 7.00 this morning, It was a perfect day for flying, I wasn't expecting to spend it fixing my heli:(

Of course God wants you to be happy ,Jesus said 'I have come that they might have Life.....'

Beer is wonderfull but I'm sure that Marin Luther's Happiness stemmed from his confidence that he was justified by faith not religious works

Keep it up:thumbup:

Absolutely correct Ian.

The fact that he really t'd off the Pope was a bonus!

And if I hear one more elder at a board meeting say "here I stand, I can do no other" I'm going to bean him with the LARGE catachism. ;)

As I picture Christ -
