No one has tried the shaft drive system yet? I wanted to know if it was better to go that route before ordering one.

Knowing this bunch, I'd say wait about ten more minutes.... ;-)

The EP200 is tail heavey to begin with, so adding more weight to the tail isn't a great idea . Plus, if your still in the stage where you crash quite often, the repairs of this bird would go through the roof . It's up to you, but I would order the belt drive version first, get used to the bird, and then upgrade to the shaft drive system if/when you feel necessary. But yes, there is one person who did convert to shaft driven tail, but I haven't heard from him since he told us about his first couple hovers. I'll try and find a link for you.

I just bought the sd version kit. Calling it a kit is a stretch, it's mostly artf. Haven't maidened her yet, I'm still tinkering. I was expecting it to be a nightmare to balance having heard about the tail heavy tendency. Not the case. Is it tail heavy, yes. But only slightly. When I suspend the heli by the flybar to check balance the tail is low by less than 3 1/2 degrees. This is with the light weight canopy that weighs 8.9 grams. Bluebird servos, logictech gyro and servo, 6100 receiver, and 850 Kong pack, stock motor and esc. Throw on the fiberglass canopy that weighs 20.4 grams and it's just a tad less tail heavy.
