I just thought you guys might like to have a look at what the new Bandit is made of. We've all seen the videos and pictures of the fully assembled Bandit. But until now I had never seen a complete breakdown of the components that make up this incredible little 450.
Miniature Aircraft had this display setup in their booth at the EFExpo in Phoenix. I was really happy to get the chance to have a real good look at what is in the kit before its release. Vary impressive! But it is MA after all.

Not really my cup of tea, but nice little heli. Very nice way to show a helis construction. Props to the guy that came up with that idea. Thanks for posting these pics!

Nope. I've only heard rumors. The sponsored pilots got their kits from the production run so i cant be too long (famous last words).

I got the feeling from the people I talked with at the Expo that no one really wants to commit to a release date. The answer I got was "Soon vary Soon". No mater how hard I tried I couldn't get them to sell me one of the three they had on display in the MA booth. However I did manage to talk the guys from Thunder Power out of a set of their new 328mm CF main blades to test.

Thanks for fighting the good fight, but i would rather have NO release date than one that keeps changing.

Amen to that. Changing dates just disappoints people. This bandit looks like it is going to be a hot ticket though. I will wait!

I think the only question about the bandit is how well those CF grips will hold up to the test of time.

Have you every seen Bobby fly his in person?

Looks like they're going to hold fine enough.

In the air isn't the portion of the "flights" iam worried about.

Nick Maxwell was on hand at the expo and through down some pretty impressive demo flights with his Bandit. I've got to admit at first I was a little concerned about how well the blade grip design would hold up also. But once you see one up close it really looks like it is a pretty sturdy setup. I got this picture of Nick's Bandit after he was finished for the day and it went back on the display stand.

Look at the size of those links !!

JESAUS, those links are huge. Where those screws designed to protrude like that to balance everything or are they just like that for... looks :D

I count six ugly screws on one blade grip minus the blade screw?

The larger links are harder to break and MUCH easier to assemble, i LOVE EM.

Yes but if you look at the ones on the board that are seperate for the viewing they are different, smaller they are, so which is it that they come with is the question..... At least it looks this way from the pictures, could be wrong...

Hi Guys,
Great to see all the great comments about it!!

My model had std. MA links on it that were just slightly cut down. I had those on there from testing, and had not changed that particular model over yet. The production links are the ones glued to the board. They are just as strong around the ball, but a little less beefy in the base (as all of that isn't needed). The great thing is, this shows that the 450 uses the same dia. ball and ID of the link that all of MA's links do.

You are most certainly right....these links are super easy to service, and last for a long time. Plus, when a crash happens, since they are harder to break and come off, a lot less set-up time is needed during a rebuild.

I haven't (either has Bobby) broke a carbon grip in flight or crash.

Thanks for clearing that up for us Nick. I went back through the pictures I got at the Expo and found this one of the model that's glued to the display. It has what looks to be the std links your talking about. They still look to be a pretty descent link. I do like that there sticking with the larger ball links for this heli.

Just like a strip teas I only reveal a little bit at a time. Get everybody all excited and drooling. Then expose a little bit more.
