Probably if you check the Clemson football schedule. They are probably playing a home game the same weekend as the event.
I know John usually checks the football schedule for Clemson before he sets the dates for the event.

Hotel/motel rooms will be at a preminum for at least a 60 mile radius. I would guess it would be hard to find a room at a reasonable rate even in Greenville.

Ouch... I called John. That sucks, damn football! ;)
Well... I will have FreakWife and Lil' Freak on this trip.
:?: :?:
It should be pretty cool at night so tent camping would be good.

I called these places.
Jameson Inn at exit 19 $120 a night plus tax, two night minimum. They do have a full breakfast with each room. This was two double bed rate.
Holiday Inn Express at exit 27. $249 a night for room with King bed and pull out sofa bed.
Cape Cod Inn at exit 19. I never could get them to answer the phone. I have stayed here in the past. It is OK, it is clean and quiet. Not sure what the rate will be, last time I stayed there two years ago it was like $70 a night. It is about 20 mins to field from this place.
Anyone interested might try in North Georgia on I-85 at Commerce. Probably about 40-50 mins to the field from there. It is about 25 miles from Commerce to South Carolina state line. Also the other choice would probably be Greenville SC, this is about 30 miles north of the field I believe. The motels in that area might be less expensive and have some rooms. If anyone finds anything please be sure to post the information.
Thanks

I would guess that is probably the Cape Cod Inn at exit 19. That sounds about right for the price. I don't think they are into the jack the rates up for football game day thing. And it is about 20 minutes to the field from there. About a mile off the interstate and then 8 miles north on 85 and then off at exit 27 and then a few miles to the field.

Dammmmmmmmmmmmmm,
I thought that I had that straight with these hotels. I will get with them tomorrow and see. There are also hotels in Easley, Powdersville and in Greenville that are not very far away. I will check on these as well. :arggg: :arggg:

Anderson, SC has a Quality Inn, La Quinta, Cape Cod Inn, and several others at exit 19. There are two across from Hooters, but I can't recall the names..
You may want to try Abbeville, and even further west and south for 'good' rates.
Augusta is 2 1/2 hours south southwest if you don't mind driving... I'm for the tents myself :)

Wayne,
I believe you mean exit 19 instead of exit 27. The Cape Cod Inn is at exit 19.
The Holiday Inn Express is the only place I know at exit 27, thou there may be one more.

I stand corrected, it's 19.
There are several heading south from Exit 19 in Anderson, near the Longhorn steakhouse, and Red Lobster and other eating joints..
