Since the small fire on the Turbine, I was determined to figure out a way to lessen the potential for fire and if one breaks out minimize damage. Here are some pictures of how I've done it.

Picture one shows the insultherm tubing that now encases the fuel lines. I also reran the fuel lines outside the fame and secured them with Velcro. That way if the tank breaks away, the fuel line should travel with it reducing the chance of the fuel line coming off. With the insultherm protection if the tanks comes off in the front and touches the exhaust the line won't melt off.

Picture two shows all wiring and fuel and gas lines running either in Insultherm or braided wire covering.

Picture three shows the convoluted tubing used along teh entire length of the gas line to the solenoids.

Picture four shows how I cut the Insulterm and made a single wind piece by stapling multiple sections together. This protects teh Duralite RX battery and teh regulator. There is still room for air to get in from teh front to keep the regulator breathing.

Was it worth the trouble? Not sure today, but if and when I crash again, I hope the effort pays off by not having a fire.

Hopntod,

Where in the valley are you. I work at a Warehouse in Harrisonburg. In fact I just left there Thursday after spending the week.

I wish I lived closer so I could stop by and help you tidy up the wiring :YeaBaby:

Looks great man! Hope it works but as already mentioned, hope you don't ever find out.

Lou,

I am glad I checked under the hood after your last PM -

Seriously though I checked all my servos and the 2mm nuts are stout and tight. I have added the flybar weights at 35mm out so will check that as soon as I get some time. I rolled the headspeed back and it was smooth yesterday and today no joy. I do have new dampers though sooooo

Hi Ron,
I'm not sure what I'm looking at... is that a double turbine?

OK, so you guys are bumming me out:( Here I sit in beautiful FL where it's 88 degress and I'm working. No helis here. I have a sick turbine at home (although I think I got it) and a Gasser waiting for parts. So, I'll have to wait until Saturday before I can play again.

Hopefully we will all have good news this week with our machines:hug:
