well my friend gave me a big push yesterday. he has been flying without his training gear for a few days now. well not to be outdone i didn't use mine either. flew 3 packs, and not a crash. the last pack i kept her in the air for just over 5 min :) :banana it was great! i could have gone the full pack, but i got to high. there is a heating duct that is lower than the rafters in his basement. i got too close, and spooked me to land her. i need more batteries now. 3 just isn't enough. i'll be getting a balance board so i can use my triton to charge my batteries in less than a hour.

are there better yet reasonably priced balance boards other than thunder power?

Congrats on the success. I use a triton with an astroflite blinky. It is a nice little balancer that works well, you might need an adapter though depending on what balance plug your running.

i fly ounce a week, and seem to be flying better each week. it's finally starting to click for me.

I only used training gear on the first few flights, and ditched them. They are only of use when figuring out how to land smoothly, and once I had that down, I saw no reason to keep something on that changes the flight characteristics. And the training gear made the helicopter look like a total gomer...
