Hey rappy heads!
I've been flying my 50 SE now for about a year (weekend warrior).
I'm not doing any 3D, but pushing it hard sport wise.
What parts should I be looking for to start failing? I'd like to be proactive
instead of re-active.
Clunk, links, engine, etc.?
Thanks!

Clunk lines top the list. I use 30% and change my lines once a month during the season.
Some fuels and 30% are harder on the lines.
Ball links keep a close eye especially if you fly in a dusty area.
Listen for any different or grinding type noises if you use a Hyper 50 at the first sign of that change your crank bearings.
Dampners keep an eye on these they are cheap to replace.
Invest in a beraing greaser tool. I go over my whole heli and regrease all the bearings in the offseason and any time I have a part off for repair/ inspection. Will save you $$$ over bearing replacement in the future.

What he said plus.....
VERY IMPORTANT - Gyro tape. Scrape off the old and replace it with new. We had two helis down at our club last season due to gyros dropping off.
Check the one way clutch in the main gear.
I'd pop the spindle shaft out and re-lube the dampers.
If you're using a Nicad, give it a discharge cycle to pep it up a bit.
