View Full Version : Well might as well post it
Charley you should be getting 10-15% longer flight times minus the flybar ...... as if you weren't getting enough. STOP hogging all the fun and let us play.

i am about 100% sure it was mechanical and not the gyro with my 600. i have since moved everything around on the heli. i am just waiting on the firmware update until i try again.

You guys should check with Esprit guys for some set up info. I have flown Bobbys Trex 500 and it was AWESOME with the v-bar. I just recently got a flybarless setup and am learning the software. Bobby came up and really helped us out with the v-bar.
Cant wait to get a close up look at the Outrage machines!

I have the Vbar in the Prototype yet to get it dialed in as need to start with a scratch setup unless any of you Vbar guys with 450's have files to loan please drop me a PM
HFG to answer your question yes the Center hub will be shorter than Flybared to reduce mast height just so you know G5 is nearly 1" shorter in frame height than most 450 size helis so Axial CG will be even better in Flybarless.
I have tried to contact Skookum Via email and pm and they have yet to reply so..... I don't know how to comment on them or there system.
I will say this on my scales I lost 44 grams in head parts then gained back 53g in Vbar so so not bad to only gain 9 grams in weight.
more to follow
I have the Skookum SK-360 on my Mini Titan and I verified the total weight of the unit to be 19 grams including cables. Add 10 grams for my Logictec 2100 gyro and you have a total of 29 grams of gyros. That minus your 44 grams = a net savings 15 grams...:banana
If you like, send me a G5 and I'll test it for you! I promise to return it...;)

OK Fellas check it out soon to be released just after G5 as a kit and as an upgrade you can guess you get a cookie ;)
Now, give us Titanium Turnbuckles instead of plain connecting rods (swash to grip) and you'll hit the ball wayyyyyy out of the park...
For those not in the loop, turnbuckles have CCW threads on 1 end and CW threads on the other. This allows for much greater resolution than 1 turn of a ball link. Is key because 1 turn might be too much when you only need 3/8's of a turn.
Also, if you sell flybarless as a standard option (vs. upgrade) then you will prevent a secondary market of "Outrage G5 Head For Sale"..."Everything but the swash"...
Flybarless - I'm a believer!

Hello Charley:
Is there any reason why we couldn't use your flybarless head on some of the brand-x machines? Mini Titan to be most specific.
Thanks.

I'll second that. Man HC the next stup for you would be tx implants then you would not need t use your fingers and then try flying 2 helis at once. lol.
