Hi Gaui-brothers

I had a chance to fly 5 packs yesterday, in ablolute zero wind - and man! I just love this little heli. :banana

No, I can't even do a decent figure of eights yet, and yes, it is quite a handful to handle, but I thing my Gaui 200 gives me even more "heli satisfaction" (whatever that is) than my T-rex 500. And best of all, I am not "afraid" to fly (and crash) it, the way I am with my T-500

Today seems t be a calm day too, so I am looking forward to all 8 Aplus packs through my new found love. :Bang

Btw, I am getting close to 7 minutes of flying on my 850mAh 2s packs - not bad!

Sorry, but I just had to share my enthusiasm.

WE KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! :banana

I kept mine aloft without touching down for a full pack today, a big accomplishment for this newbie. Sweet, sweet little machine. I felt like kissing it!

I was reading a Japanese heli magazine, and there was am advertisement that said:

"WARNING: This hobby is known to the state of California to be extremely addictive, cause chronic health complications, and in extreme cases cause you to go bankrupt."

I think at this rate all those 'side-effects' mentioned will have set in by my 30th birthday ;). I agree with what you said about the Gaui. Keep us posted.

Does that apply to me as well, in far away Denmark?
(Smaller population than the state of California, by the way)

I am screwed - heli-screwed. :dance

Peter

PS: Just had to have one more flight this morning as a break between studies.

When you start getting urges to kiss your helis (not that I don't at some points :P) your definitely screwed.

I've had both those urges at one time or another. Addiction does strange things to you :smokin:!

It seems as "head speed eats milliAmps"

I just raised my TC from 85-75-65-75-85 to 95-85-75-85-95 (switched from idle-up 1 to idle-up 2) this morning due to a little wind, and now I can that I have to down my flight time.

It also seems as if woodies eats current, much more that the plastic blades.

Anyone seen the same?

And if yes, why is it so? :thinking

I have'nt done any testing, but yeah, it does seem like my flight times have gone up since putting on the plastic blades, maybe by a minute!

I just put it down to "exercising" my batteries or something, - huh
To be honest, I doubt the weight or blade profile would make a whole lot of difference in something this small. I'm thinking headspeed as well.

I am saving for one too. I was gonna just get the kit and add the electronics as I get money for it, but I have decided that I will save $500 and then just drop it down so I can get everything at once. Once I start a built I have to finish it :D

Well, yeah...

It's the same way people talk about '57 chevy's, VW bugs, Piper Cubs etc..
I've said it before, I think I'll be right. The 200 is a classic, we're just lucky to be in on it too early to be proven correct ;-) ....

Yeps.
I get 6:30 with plastic and 5:30 with the woodies, putting 75-80% back in my Aplus 850mAh. It seems to eat around 100mAh/min with plastic and 110mAh with wood blades.

Are you kidding? :smokin:
It IS our child! A very lovely and loved one, that is! :cheers

Wow Cuzz!!! thats a seriously original & cool bike!!! The Bonneville gets my vote for a classic bike... I know a guy who bought a 1956 300SL Gullwing back in 98 with 12,400 miles from new and i thought that was low mileage... mind you it still gets my vote as the classic car :Bang

My Dad also just bought a 1975 BMW R75/6 which was the only year they made that bike with electric start and kick start. Plus, it only has 5,000 original miles. Everything is original except for the spark plugs.

Not quite like a child. More like a pet. A little robotic bird. You'll see.

By Thunder Surf, your'e right!

Just read an article on a new dino-robot, gets raves.

200 is like that, cute, sometimes affectionate, sometimes bites..

OK - now we have:

1) Heli crack - my personal favorite
2) Heli pet
3) "Our second child"

Any other heli-obsession nick-names?
