I am newbe to helis and have done the sim stage and would like to do the hop and short hover stage. I seem to be having trouble getting my tail to hold with the throttle at center if I don't hold nearly full left rudder the heli will spin. Any tips on correcting this or is this normal?:dontknow

Check that the tail slider / tail servo linkage isn't binding at all and the servo's working across its full range
If its Ok then you need to adjust the position of the tail servo on the boom. loosen the screws holding the servo mounts and slide it a little along the tail boom to adjust the pitch of the tail blades in the reauired direction and then retighten..
Why there is no adjustable link on the pushrod I don't know, perhaps the plastic screw links arn't strong enough for the extra force the tail exerts
All the best Ian

The tail slider travel starts at about 2 to 3 mm from the frame until the slider touches the center hub of the tail blades. I haveit set at about 1/3 of the travel as the book calls for it does not bind or stick. The tail is super sensetive and it seems you have to correct with left rudder but if you start to go to much left and correct even lightly to the right it will start spining right then if you try to correct with left it will spin left it will do several revolutions either direction before you can get your fingers off the sticks. I have a Airtronics RD8000 2.4 as a radio on this. I had a heli back in the 80's that had no gyro and it was a nightmare to fly. I thought the gyro would make it easier?

Stock belt apart from the Radio?
Are you waiting for the the indicator light to stop twinkling on the gyro before you fly it?
Is the gain set too low on the gyro?

Stock out of the box except for the radio, and I thought maybe the gain was set to high?

If it was too high the tail would hunts side to side. Too low and it swings violently.
You sure its plugged into the right socket on the receiver
If not it sounds like a duff gyro.. When its working right the tail will be no problem

Me thinks I need to ask for someone who has set up a ele heli with an RD8000 to help me set mine up I just think that is where my problem is. There is a lot of difference between this radio and my old eclips 6 ch.:smokin:

:lolol I got this bright idea that I would shelf my Belt CP for a while and try to get my $25.00 Black Hawk 3d Pro together and see if the tail was any better on it, only to get it ready to fly and find that the tail is nuts on it too. It is built with Esky motor, servos, Gyro a Trinity ESC., and a Airtronics 8CH receiver. The BH being smaller I had it up close and looking at it from the rudder servo arm side to see how much travel I was getting out of the servo when I noticed the Gyro was responding to the movements of the heli, only it was responding backwards! I quickly flipped the reversing switch plugged the motor up set the heli in the kitchen floor and wow what a difference. After a few adjustments I could pop the BH off the floor without touching the rudder and hardly move at all.
To make a short story even shorter, I grabbed the Belt CP from the shelf flipped the reversing switch and :rollingif my wife wouldn't have yelled at me I would have had my first flight on the Belt in the kitchen. Shame its rainning outside, well theres always tomarrow.
Thanks for the input.
