Crashed my 600n for the first time today. Apparently, when I lock-tighted the bolts on the feathering shaft, I did one of them twice and the other none). Stupid stupid stupid thing to do. It threw the blades at 30 feet up and came down hard. The damage is actualy pretty minimal if you ignore the busted canopy.

Sorry to hear that. Yeah I hate arguing these things with myself as I carry the heli to the truck and then later at home seeing the tell tell signs that no long allow you to lie to yourself.

I have actually done this one on the 450 but I caught it on a pre-flight check.

Sorry about that...I had that happen to me with my 450. Threw my blades. When you found your blades did they survive? The canopies are pretty easy to repair. Be sure to check everything over. If you bent your tail boom the TT is prob. bent, as well as stripped front gears on the TT. Have fun with the rebuild..I mean that in a good way:thumbup:

Yeah, the blades survived. Must of what I lost were actually thrown when the blades let go. Thrust bearing, both grip bearings, dampners. Lost the flybar, one tail blade, one sf mixing arm, and I'll do the main shaft just to be sure it isn't bent. The heli came down upside down. The frame looks completely intact.

How do you fix the canopy? Is it worth the effort to fix it? How long would it take? The white fiberglass replacement is only $30 which was how I was leaning (with a coaft of yellow paint on it).

If the canopy is really bad, you're better off going with the 30 dollar blank. If you have the materials.. sandpaper, fiberglass..resin, tape and so on, to me it's fun to fix the canopy. Honestly, if you have to buy all that stuff you're going to spend close to 30. I have the airbrushes, compressor and materials so it's pretty quick for me.

There were a lot of "first crash today" posts yesterday. That's why I said "another first crash" ;)

We have to be verrrrrrrrry carefull with the spindle shaft screwz.
Yesterday after a long day of flying about 8 tanks, when i was cleaning my heli i realized that the grips were loose, they were shaking freely left and right.

MY SPINDLE SCREWZ WERE TOTALLY LOOSE!!!!

Most of my flight is low 3d, Can you imagine what happens if the blades fly out during a very low inverted near to you foe example????
wwwwwwoooooooowwwww don't even want to know what happens.
Got a hit on my foot a month ago with a tail blade and still did not recover.

sorry for the crash, but all i am trying to tell you is that something much worse could happen.

good luck on ur rebuild

i always use red loctite on one side of the spindle and blue on the other side. I then mark the blade grip thats on the same side as the blue loctite was used on as "M" for master. This way i know in a crash to remove the bolt from the spindle on that side, and to make all tracking adjustments on the Other blade grip.
