View Full Version : Painted muffler?
Has anybody painted their Hatori muffler? Was considering doing so and was wondering if there are any problems in doing so.

The only paint that seems to hold up over time is high heat engine paint from auto zone, the 1200 degree variety as they have a 500 degree version that is not as good.

Would some of the powder coats work?

I could see powder coating working. but if it comes in a can, i probably wouldnt do it. Brake paint would hold up. some parts stores carry it for painting brake calipers.
What color are you thinking of painting it and what is your canopy paint scheme? (just curiosity)
Waiting on RC Custom Painting. When I see how it turns out I'll decide.

I just repainted my 1005 rear muffler today, installed it on and it looks awesome! Gonna go fly it now to dry the paint :) Gonna look good for the upcoming funflys.

My friend and I are looking at setting up a small powder coating shop. What is the average temperature of the muffler?
