German Guy,Questions Hurricane 550 Gear setup for the 1100kv motor!!

Hi my name is jens! i´am from germany. my english is not verry good, i can better speak it than write it!Sorry!

i want to buy me a Hurricane 550 CF from Flying-Hobby.com !

the hurricane is not so popular in my region so i tried to ask here!!

Wich is the best gear setup for the 1100kv motor and some lipo´s like 2200mAh 25C, because i have for my T-Rex450 six of those lipo´s in my garage and i want to use them for a while,since i kann buy lipo´s with more than 3000mAh or somthing! Or i buy me some of the A123 as 4s+3s !! i must think about it!

Most common way here in Austria/Germany with 6s is 12T for motor pinion! The only problem is that the 12T pinion isn't available from Gaui and damn expensive. at least here...
I'm running 7s A123 right now with 13T Gaui motor pinion and 20T one way gear and 50T first main gear... works quit well with 1100kV motor. Motor runs much cooler than with 42T first and 12T motor pinion. The 20T one way gear is much better than the 19T. The 19T tends to slip through after a some (50 in my case) flights.

13t pinion and a 50 t first ger should b around 1780 rpm and 14t around 1920 rpm with a 20t owb. where r u from in germany?

I bought a combo from Fung (Flying Hobby owner) recently and he was happy to upgrade the motor - I went for the Z20A 980KV with a 14T pinion and 50T primary gear. I get about 7 - 7.5 minutes on a pair of 2200mah (both the APlus from Fung and my Kong Powers).

the time of 7-7.5 minutes sounds realy good!
whats about the power of this motor?? can i use it with the normal esc whats included in the set i postet??
you have to know that im a baginner all i do at the moment is flying a little bid around, but i want to get better! im training my skills every day to come more and more to 3d flight!!but also i think is is a long way to get these 3d skills!
wich rpm did you get with this combo of gear and motor??
i think i will wrote mr. fung an e-mail and ask for this upgrades!!

I am learning as well - lazy 8s and just starting circuits. The Z20A that I have is 980 KV - slightly less than the Gaui one in your kit, but easily enough power for what I do and more efficient than the standard motor. I pretty confident that it should work with the Align ESC, I use the 50 amp Gaui ESC.

I have my 550 set up for about 1900 rpm using a 14T pinion and a 50T primary gear - flies nicely.
