i am going to ask him to take up as much slop as he can. do you guys think it would be a good idea for him to have a couple of different heads to look at? there does seem to be people who do not have this problem. clearances? buzz, didn't you say you had a set you could send? i'm sending the head block, with the grips, grip screws, bearings, little brass washer, the brass whatever it's called that smashes the dampeners, and the dampers.

To me all same on 200 , but you guy's know better.

need head block (with spindle ) See image
O ring (thing we need improved)
Stepped Brass damper Retainer
small brass spacer
Blade Grip
Blade grip bolt (screw the M2 one)

Maybe image useful as well.

THanks

added Dampner Retainer and spacer image if useful

i just got off the phone with mike trueblood. he got my head parts, and is starting to work on the dampeners. i can't wait till my head is back, and the dampeners are installed.

thank you mike for taking the time to help the 200 crew. we owe you a beer.:cheers

No problem. Just checking. We don't celebrate memorial day over here for some reason.

it's kind of weird that anybody "celebrates" memorial day.

Rotorhead - where did you find them. I need some - or the Trueblood dampers.

I read the thread goldslinger posted about main grip slop, and is he saying that the head dampeners basically aren't going to us any good because they weren't the problem in the first place?

they came with my new head yoke. trueblood is still working on the dampeners, so i dont have my grips to test these stickers. i tried making stickers when i still had my grips here. don't even waste your time. too tiny. maybe a hollow punch through paper?

i'll run the truebloods reguardless. they are far superior to o rings. i have them in my 450.

So, I'm like, freaking out!

This was not a translation problem? The <stickers> really are STICKERS!!
Are they on the decal sheet?

Holy Cow, YGBFKM! Using plastic decals as spacers in a critical assembly constitutes engineering malpractice in my book.

Naw, it could not happen, too freaking unbelievable to be true....

How much more would it cost to include a few steel washers, than to print stickers on a sheet?

...but from the same folks that gave us the "clicking" grip problem???, no relief in the grips to fold the blades for transport???, and that insane bolt/nut junction on the bottom rail??? well, just maybe...

I doubt .04mm stickers are going to solve the soft head damper problem.

Ah so I take it the stickers didn't come in the Main kit, to get them you have to order a replacement yoke . at least we know what they look like now.

How are the Truebloods Coming? Cant wait.
Thanks RotorHead.

The machine shop I use to make my molds is backed up, so its taking longer than expected. I'm guessing another 2 weeks at least since there are a few molds in front of this one. I'll keep you guys updated as I make more progress.

Now that's good news.

I just hope that whatever is happening in the spindle/grip tolerances does not screw this up.

As soon as I get back, I'm pulling my "clicking" head down and we'll have a look at what's going on here.

I've been thinking that the dampers are'nt working at all, and that the slop & click mean that we need more washers, or to shorten the spindle.

This would account for why we're seeing great results with the tubing solution, and why Rotor's head wore (wobbled) out.

At this point, I'm full tilt into the 200. I promise to send more pics, and we'll get vids going soon.

Dude,

If I had the heli in front of me, I could start describing...

Hopefully, he's got your parts, and has figured out the tolerance problems via the posts.

Good dampers won't do us any good if the spindles too long, or whatever else is causing the <click>.

My thought is that decent dampers, along with some washers or spacers will probably be then end solution, regardless of what version of parts we've ended up with.

I'll get my head torn down this weekend, almost home now. I'll send pics and maybe we can figure this out. My suspicion is that we've got a batch of overly-long spindles or messed up grips. We'll see...

"...jeez, just when I was really starting to fly, glad I did'nt bash her last weekend. Parts should show up by the time I arrive, plenty spindles, stock dampers and washers..."
