My belt feels really loose to push it on the side opening, but when I hold the tail and try to spin the main it still feels solid, think I should tighten it anyhow

As long as it doesn't slip when you hold it like you said, I would leave it as is.

IMO, loose is better than too tight...as long as you don't get any slippage.

Thats what I was thinking too, thanks. Too tight will create heat, and the tail seems to hold fine even in these 20MPH winds hover and moving around.

The manual says that if you can push the belt past the halfway point across the boom, then its too loose, and if it won't reach the half way point, its too tight. On the "passenger side" or right side of the boom, this is where the belt has slack while the left side will have tension while in flight or under load.

my recommended tention

just beyond the point of slipage

hold main from spinning and try to rotate the tail if it take some force to skip then its good
if it skips with ease tighten

if belt is to tight loss of performance
if too loose loss of tail performance
if just right very quick and perfect performance

I did the exact opposite hold the tail and try to spin the main (more force spinning the main) but no slippage. No loss of performance tail or overall so I will leave it for now, thanks for the replies. But if something does happen I will just blame it on helimix LOL

seriously I think its good, been messing around tonight in 20mph winds and no loss of performance.

You need to order yourself a belt tension torque tool. They are great. Sets the tension perfectly. You do not have one yet Lock? I know Sokal, Otto, SPaRX, SkiGolFMike... Lots of people have them. You can find it in any hardward store next to the right ad left handed smoke shifters.
