well got everything back together and all wired up so all i need to do now is charge up my batteries and program the esc and take it for a test flight in my backyard... does anybody know how much power the esc uses while programing... will i be safe using the batteries i program to fly for a couple of min?

Minimal power used.....charge the lipos like normal.....hover for a few minutes, then recharge normally and do another hover I would say 3 -4 mins....then recharge and you should be set to go...

They just don't want you to take out the max amps for the first couple of cycles.

alright kool... i would like to do it today but its 90 outside so id rather wait until the morning... im still trying to figure out why i have some binding in the head... swash is set to 47 47 60 with elevator at 60... i have the cycle ring and at full + and full - in the corners there is a little binding... im wondering if its the bell hiller mixing because i have that set to max 3d settings

Have you flown this alreay and want more bell-hiller? If not I would be very careful...it can get a way form you real fast.

I found that somethine the balls on the mixing arms hit the oppositie mixing arm at full down pitch. Also 47 sounds awful low? HAs the head flow the way it's adjusted, other then the increased B-H ? If not you might want to start from scratch again and check everything over.

no i havent flow it with this setup yet... 47 are the numbers one of my buddies at my field uses so i just put them there, ive flow it before with that bell hiller but i was using plastic grips and for some reason with the cnc parts there has been some binding...

ok i think i figured out what it was... on the mixing arm i moved the ball to the outside hole and bumped the numbers up to 50 and there isn't any binding... im going to break in the batteries tomorrow and get the gyro setup and hopefully i will have a good weekend to fly... my friend is going to bring a video camera so i should have a video to post of it

also i couldnt get the holes drilled right on the trex 600 skids so i put the gaui skids back on and used the spacer in the back plus added a m3 locknut which is about the size of another spacer and the tail is as high as it was with the 600 skids... plus the heli sits like a dragster lol

well im kinda sad... went outside to spool up my heli and break in the batteries and the blades spun for a second and then started slowing down while the motor was still spinning... at first i though i was going to report the first 20owb failure but after examining it the one way is fine what happened what the frong gear hub was stripped out somehow and the 2 grub screws came loose so the front gear and pinon just spun but it didnt spin the shaft... but im going up 2 my lhs today to get a new one so i can still fly tomorrow :)

well test flew today and along with that came several problems... first the swash mix was messed up and it was numb to the right but really twitchy to the left... then the canopie started rubbing on the motor causing it to have raptor rash, after i got everything good a connection on the esc deans came loose... but for the few minutes i flew it was excellent... gonna have everything fixed tonight so hopefully tomorrow i will be ready for recording

well flight report... awesome, my friend didn't bring the video camera but hopefully i can get some video within the week or two... with the zippy 3300s i got headspeed of 2470 with the 50 front and 15t pinon and the z30... i could do fast tic tocs and all sorts of rolls and flips... lets just say for 5 min the head was mostly always under load, but i still had some power left i could fly 6 min if i wanted 2... anybody who wants alot of power should get this setup because its awesome... and also the jr 7703d held solid... i did put 30 expo in my rudder because with the 8900g and trex 600 tail it was way to fast

With the 770 gyro 40% expo is really 0% expo. I have my expo at 50% for rudder and it's plenty fast.

Might have to give the Z30 a try. The Gaui motor is a power hog. Runs hot too.

yea after all that flying i could hold my hand on the motor and it was warm... the esc was cool and the batteries were bearly warm... im going on vacation this weekend for a week so after that i can post a video but at 2500 rpm this heli is crazy :)...
