Has anyone seen or dealt with their Axe CP main blade grips binding? It makes the flybar quite stiff and the bird difficult to fly. Logically, the solutions I see here are a longer feathering spindle or a shorter center hub. Anyone have any experience on this issue?

Are you running the stock head?
if so make sure your feathering shaft is straight. I have had problems with that in the past...also check the bearings and make sure they are good. The only thing you might try is to use red lock tight on the screws and not tighten them down all the way.....but I woudl sure as heck let them set up real well and make sure that they don't move before spooling up

Hi Edwinssiv, thanks for the reply. Yes, it is the stock head. Although it is a brand new spindle out of the bag I did roll it on a glass table and it is straight. I think the bearings are good, they were recently replaced, but I will recheck them since they took a hit after being replaced. I thought about the loc-tite thing but that kind of scares me. I like my screws tight! I'm thinking of grinding down the center hub a bit on both sides or trying thinner washers. I'm glad you confirmed my thinking that it is a problem of a short spindle, I wasn't too sure.

Well Jeb, if you use the red locktite it should hold..as a matter of fact you might have a very hard time getting it off again...I am not sure about grinding the head down because when you have to replace the feathering spindle again it might not fit...
I would check and make sure the bearings are all the way in the blade grips first.

Yeah, I run into this a lot too when the bearings are not pressed all the way down into the grips. If I have already lock-tited the spindle screws before I notice, I can usually fix it by grabbing both blade grips and pulling them away from each other.

If I had pulled on mine any harder I would have torn the grips off. It makes no difference on mine. Something is out of tolerance.
