The system that you show doesn't look to be the best out there.

you can go to http://www.rangevideo.com (http://www.rangevideo.com/) for more information. Their systems seem pretty decent... there are others out there as well. If you Google "FPV RC" you will seem some others that offer products as well.

Generally, the maximum resolution that transmitters can send is "VGA" or 640*480 level quality so if you get a camera that does at least 480TVL (television lines - horizontal) that would be the best you can get.

Also, 900mhz systems are the best available, compared to 2.4/5.8ghz systems, because their signal suffers from less attenuation over distance given the same signal strength.

Hope that helps.

that's awesome!
they have really nice cameras!
their receivers look pretty much the same as those I found on Ebayy but they have a wider choice of frequency.

Please read this thread before embarking on this type of flying:

I'm only posting this in the interests of your safety and others who may be around you ... I'm not meaning to be a wet blanket ;)

Cheers,

David

good point Hogster!
I am aware of these risks, the first thing I did read about FPV was not to fly alone!!!... and not too far!
I am anyway far from being ready to fly FPV, I would not mind to do it with a RC plane, because I've been flying them for 20+ years, (tow plane, giant scale...) but I started with helis about 1 month ago so I'm only at flight #13, mainly hovering, I think It could be just funny to start with a cheap system not trying to do real FPV, it would be stupid to be confident in such a device, but just to see how it works and the sensations that can come out of it!
Monitoring and recording first and then, maybe, someday, FPV with appropriate equipement and as reliable as possible.

I will be trying FPV very soon and will be happy to share my experience. One good bit of advice that I have read and plan to follow is to take off / land without using FPV. Some other tips that I have read and will probably try are to use expo while flying FPV. I normally don't use any expo but did start out on helis with some expo going.

Keep up updated on your progress!
