I just received my 4000mah receiver pack to use in my Ion X. It says to load test the pack before flights using the black lead, not the charging lead. My problem with this is I hate to keep plugging and unplugging this black lead from my regulator......I worry that this connection may become weak from this process over and over. Any thoughts from anyone?
Thanks

I am guessing you got the regulator with no switch on it. If you did. Then the regulator should be plugged in between your regular switch and the reciever. To check the battery you would use the charge jack that is coming off the regular switch. The regular switch should be hooked directly to the black lead coming from the Duralite battery. The yellow lead is for charging only.

Here is the setup I am talking about above. The switch in the picture does not show a charge lead. But the switch your using should have one and that is where the battery is checked from.

Here is a picture of the regulator that has the safety switch built in.

IMPORTANT - Do not put the regulator between the
battery pack and the switch. The regulator draws current
and will kill the battery if incorrectly connected thereby
voiding your battery warranty.
SWITCHED REGULATOR INSTRUCTIONS
• Simply connect the regulator between your battery and
receiver.
• The switch has a wire coming off of it with a black male lead.
Connect this lead to your DURALITE Digital Load Tester™ to
monitor battery voltage.

Thanks DavidH......I now understand how to hook things up. I do have the unswitched regulator. I'll plug the regulator between my switch and receiver.
